Leviticus 18:22
"'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.
It's not saying that being gay is a sin, it's saying that threesomes are a sin!
Do not lie with a man
okay..
as one [the aforementioned mentioned man] lies with a woman.
So if a dude is with a woman, you shouldn't try to get in on the action. It's okay, everyone. Being gay is cool now.

I wonder what the linguistic expert types think of that interpretation?

1 AntwortenSuch much butthurt. Someone makes a joke about the bible and all you christfags hide the OPs post in order to try and ease your bottom pains. I thought you guys were supposed to be the open minded, tolerant, people with morals while the damn dirty athiests were supposed to be closed minded, arrogant, rude, bigots.

Sodom and Gommorah was burnt because of homosexuality...

That's actually quite funny. Did you come up with that yourself?
-
It just means not to have sex with a gay dude in his vagina, and that you can't have buttsex with a chick anymore. That's all.
-
I always thought it meant that a man should not tell lies in the company of another man "Man shall not lie with man" ;D

4 AntwortenWait! What you said mentions MEN. So it is fine for a WOMAN to go with a WOMAN but a MAN to go with a MAN isn't right?! The bible is so sexist!

I have nothing against gay people but I could see it being taboo back when the bible was written.

10 AntwortenGotta love how the only rules from the old testament are "Do Not Steal" "Don't murder" and "Hate gays" are the only three rules still looked upon by alot of christians

Well, the entire religion has been playing a game of telephone for the past 2000+ years, so, Jesus probably didn't say or do a lot of things that the current edition of the bible states.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Emperor Bell: 2/2/2013 1:44:53 AMWhy should anyone care what someone wrote thousands of years ago? Just because they may or may not have been bigots that can't accept people for who they are doesn't mean we have to listen to them either way.

18 AntwortenBearbeitet von OaklandPaintbalr: 2/1/2013 6:00:57 AMWhy do people obey the bibles moral code? Why not develop a moral code through your logic and reason? After all, it is our ability to reason that makes us human. Basically I wish people would think for themselves, rather than just point to the morals found in their holy book. Are most of the morals found in holy books good morals? Yes. Through your logic and reason, will you arrive at similar good morals? Probably, yes. For example, the 10 commandments could easily be reached through logic and reason. However, issues like Gay Marriage wouldnt be a problem if people developed their moral codes through logic and reason and not from their holy books. Theres no real logical reason against Gay marriage, the only arguments against stem from religious tradition. Not all the morals in holy books are developed from logic and reason. So why do people accept these morals even when they possess the ability to reason themselves?

*facepalm* I'm pretty sure "as" meant "in a similar manner to."
