Fatigue
With 10 years of destiny under my belt and 5000-10000 hrs of play all I can say is I’m fatigued.. too many constant changes, too many things to keep up with. It’s not that I don’t like a challenge but it’s too much. Casual players is where the money is and they can’t keep up with constant changing metas, 100s of armor and gun rolls and aspects and artifact mods and what’s good one month is no longer good next month and so on…the reason people complain about vault space is for this very reasons. I don’t know what to keep, and don’t think it’s enjoyable to have to regrind for something I deleted, and it’s not fun doing a raid 40 times and not getting exotic when everyone on my team has got and they get tired of playing it over and over to help me, and don’t get me started on I have to watch 10 videos to figure out how to beat something, and friends just don’t want to play after they beat something and I missed…it wasn’t like this 5 years ago!

But old Bungie succeeded in getting you addicted and making sure you log in every day . D2 was a 24/7 kind of game but wasn’t going to last . Biggest thing is just how awful old and new Bungie are to their staff and players . Some people have very very high levels for tolerating bs !

WHY did I spend endless hours farming godrolls that became obsolete overnight with EOF? It's disrespectful of player's time and effort. Armor 3.0 really drove this home in another fashion. Endgame is mostly unplayable without +200 stats on one category and then 2-3 others close to 100. Formerly I had my Vault perfected for all 3 classes regarding Armor Stats. Any build at any point in time I could achieve optimized stats. EOF reset the entire order and it's the primary reason I stepped away from this franchise for 7 straight months.

15 AntwortenAnd to nobody's surprise, they applied this formula to Marathon, doubled down on it, and we are seeing the results. Bungie became a company that can't make fun games. It's all a sweaty-simulator, and then, when they lose most of their playerbase, they act surprised.

It’s what streamers told them to do. Ironically same streamers will turn on them shortly for having done it.

I just think the artifact mods should be intrinsic to weapons & subclasses that are QoL that shouldn't be rotated out because its so dumb. As far as grinding too much really its just knowing what perks are actually worth using and 99% of them are worthless if they either dont increase damage, inflict a debuff, AoE or increase stats. But you have no way of searching for said perks in the game itself but rather external sites which was dated even in Destiny 1's era. As for raids they need tool tips for each encounter giving you a rundown on each encounter and jts a test of putting that information in practice.

10 years is a long time. It's a journey. I made friends all around the globe. That is something nothing else could provide like that, as Destiny 2 did in my case. But it's over. Bungie moved on with Marathon. For better or worse... And those people I befriended are playing now Arc Raiders or something else. All that's left are memories, good memories, but five years ago, like you said. Everything has its time. And having fatigue should be an alarm signal for you. Sometimes I think of those people I meet in my clan. Some with real hearts and minds. But they also do different stuff now. Which isn't something bad either after all those years.

Just worry about the FOMO less. I know that’s easy to say but I never really miss anything too integral if you take a break. Play it like a casual and you’ll likely enjoy it more
