The Destiny Legacy

To the Bungie Team, I want to start by saying this as clearly as I can — I don’t speak for the community. I’m not a content creator, not a voice of the masses, not someone with all the answers. I’m just a humble Guardian. One of many who has walked these worlds for years… chasing Light through the darkest corners, standing at the edge of impossible odds, and somehow always finding a reason to come back. I also want to acknowledge something important — I don’t have full visibility into what’s happening behind the scenes. The realities of development, internal dynamics, economic pressures, and the broader challenges of running a live game like Destiny 2… I can only imagine the weight of that. In my own professional life, I feel the strain of expectations and shifting environments, so I approach this with respect for what I don’t see as much as what I do. From where I stand, the current atmosphere around the game feels heavy. There’s a lot of noise right now — a lot of frustration, criticism, and negativity that echoes loudly across forums and social spaces. And while some of that may come from a place of passion, it can feel overwhelming… even disheartening. But that’s not the whole story. There are many of us — maybe quieter, maybe less visible — who still deeply care about this universe you’ve created. We’re still here. Still logging in. Still running strikes, raids, and late-night sessions with friends who have become something more than just names on a screen. We are the Guardians -blam!- what it felt like to first be chosen by the Light… who stood in awe of the Traveler… who fought through the Red War, faced down Oryx, and walked into the unknown again and again, not because it was perfect — but because it meant something. This game built connections. Clans that feel like fireteams in the truest sense. Friendships that outlast seasons. Moments that stay with us long after the console turns off. Right now, what feels like it’s missing isn’t perfection — it’s connection. I understand there may be limitations on what can be shared. Legal, strategic, or otherwise. That makes sense. But even a small gesture — a bit of open dialogue, a sense of direction, or simply reassurance — can go a long way for those of us still holding the line. Because even if we’re not the loudest voices… we’re still here. Still defending the Last City.Still carrying the Light.Still hoping for what comes next. And if I may offer one small, completely humble, absolutely critical request… Please… for the love of the Traveler… bring back Superblack. Let us once again become the void itself — the sleek, shadowy Guardians we were always meant to be. Consider it morale support. For the people. For the fashion endgame. For Cayde. (He’d understand.) Thank you for everything you’ve built, and for whatever comes next. With respect, A Humble Guardian
