Love Skyrim and destiny obviously. Don’t mind turned based rpgs as I’m an old guy and grew up through that inception.
I would love some recommendations. Preferably open world but whatever anyone’s been loving or looking forward to playing m, I’d love to hear about them.
Edit. Lots of good suggestions. Keep them coming, I’m on ps5!

1 AntwortenThe division is pretty good and you have extraction shooter mode with dark zone

1 AntwortenIf you haven’t played Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s a fantastic turn-based RPG. Tons of builds, tons of replayability, and it has a built-in mod browser that adds even more reasons to start a new game. Fade’s Equipment, Extra Encounters, and the level 20 cap mods are some of my favorites.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Steel Assassin: 3/14/2026 6:59:27 PMMy recommendations might be all over the place, but I'm trying to think of lesser known ones: Greedfall - open world rpg. Not turned based. Kind of a 1700s ish setting with magic and a deadly, mostly unknown continent Torment: Tides of Numenara - Turn based, less open world, but pretty fun. Very much a resource economy kinda deal when it comes to success in dialog, actions or combat Child of Light - it's a cute, side stroller turn based rpg. Somewhat open world

Octopath Traveler (any of them) if you like turn based, Fire Emblem Three Houses was also pretty good. For more action, Elden Ring. Elden Ring is better Skyrim, it quenched all my thirsts for an RPG.

2 AntwortenHave you tried the 'FF VII' remake games?

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Cultmeister: 3/14/2026 12:53:30 PMLots of people didn’t like Avowed but I thought it was a decent stab at an ARPG. Not amazing given Obsidian’s track record (Fallout NV most notably) but well worth sinking some hours into. It’s better than The Outer Worlds anyway which sort of fell flat for me. Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2 are the turned based ones I always go back to. I did play Pillars of Eternity (Avowed is set in the same universe) way back when but I never got into it really; it’s supposed to be just as good though. And there’s also Outward which is a fairly hardcore survival RPG and one you really need to sink the hours into. For example there isn’t a fast travel or traditional save system (or there wasn’t when I played, maybe they put one in since a bunch of people were complaining). Health items only heal over time and hunger, tiredness etc is mandatory rather than an option like in Skyrim. For combat you need to take your rucksack off else you’ll be too slow to be any good, if you sleep out in the wild there’s a chance you get captured by bandits etc and may wake up halfway across the map with half your gear missing (this also applies to death so you can’t simply reload to try again), etc. I played some of it and enjoyed it but I don’t have the time for that kinda thing these days.

The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk

-CrossCode - You know how, like, in the classic Zeldas you go into a dungeon, fight some baddies, solve some puzzles, and then halfway through the dungeon you get a big item that completely recontextualizes the whole thing, then you use that item to go fight more baddies and solve more puzzles? Okay, well, imagine that, except you're the Avatar, and the dungeon items are the four elements. That's CrossCode. Combat is super flashy, while also be strategic and intentional, and while the story is a little difficult to get into at first, it's actually really good once it gets going. Highly recommend. -Noctuary - I recently just finished this one, and it quickly became one of my favorites. Do be aware there is a lot of reading--it is both an aRPG and a visual novel--but sweet baby corn is it good. I love this world, and these characters, and it caught me off guard with plenty of really clever twists. You swap back and forth between two characters at will. One uses long ranged magic attacks, the other close ranged melee, and not only that, but each character also has three distinct fighting styles you can swap between as well. This constant swapping keeps the combat always feeling super fresh, and you feel super cool from utilizing them all effectively. Those are my top two atm, but here are some other good ones: -Neo: The World Ends With you - Control 6 characters at once with different commands, and a constantly evolving combat style as you get new abilities. Good fun, the first game's good too if you don't hate motion controls. -Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin - One half hack 'n slash demon hunting RPG, one half rice farming. The most brilliantly designed game I've ever played. -Kingdom Hearts - The series has its ups and downs, and you've probably heard of it so I won't go too in depth, but KHII is my favorite RPG of all time.
