Making a game for collection then deleting the collection that’s the bungie philosophy. You collect and find things randomly in d2 for the devs to take it away next year.
In marathon you collect things that can be taken away instantly by other takers or the devs take it next season. It’s actually genius

2 AntwortenIt’s why I find this whole raid like map weird. So in D2 you do a raid mostly for the weapons and armour that you keep and can show off. So in marathon you do this raid like activity, go through all the bs to get it done, for what ? For a weapon someone can just take from you and have without doing the activity themselves ? Why would anyone bother. Would you spend all that time running a d2 raid if some -blam!- could just take your new stuff the next time you play ?

It's why I don't really like extraction shooters I wanna keep my loot and only get rid when I want to.

1 AntwortenNot having some sort of reset or sunsetting is why we are here...we are powercrept to all hell and now all guns are basically meainingless. content vaulting on the other hand was a terrible decision.

With Marathon, that’s nothing new. It’s typical of extraction shooters…

As a player who loves MMOs I understand the need to add new things to chase. That being said when it is the same thing I had before, just with a new shine and polish, (ie: new element, perk combos, changing weapon frames) that's when I lose interest. It's like them telling us to drop what we are using so they can mess with it in the background then turn around and resell it to us saying it's a "new" weapon. I know since EoF new weapon types have come out. The question is, how long until we see them again once they've "rotated" out?

Why bother spending $40 for that? There are many extraction shooter games with less nonsense than marathon

11 AntwortenMarathon: Yeah, that's how extraction shooters work, this is not unique to Bungie. D2: what are you talking about
