I'm mainly a pvp player. And talks from a pvp perspective. And it's weird, consider how abandoned pvp is by bungoe. And how they now is making a gambit on roids...
But. The positive first. The gunplay is funplay, when it comes to destiny and Bungie! And that's it...
At this point there isn't anything else.
Telling ppl to try destiny, because the gunplay is great isn't enough.
The choice in p2p connection is so 90s and was thr most stupid decision they could have taken back when they launched d2. We even asked for dedicated servers, because pvp players saw how abysmal it was in d1. And we didn't get it in d2. (Stooopid)
The absolute lack of interest with 0 maps for 2years, then we got promised 1 new map and 1 reworked old map, with every major expansion, and we got eventide lab, ciruz plaza and that 3rd one. And nothing again. The amount of promises and lies alone from Bungie, is enough, that I wouldn't recommend this game to a friend. And that is an issue for any developers, if the community won't even recommend your game to their friends, (free advertisement) then it goes down fast with the playerbase.
So as much as I love this game (I can't get gun feel and gunplay in any other games, that matchs Destiny) I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

Criminal we've had these great Renegades themematic locations with no pvp map.

3 AntwortenIf anyone asked me about Destiny, I'd recommend D1 over D2. D2 has lots of advantages and improvements, but it's a broken, incomplete game. Half the needed storyline is STILL in the "vault." PvP is a mess and there are clearly no plans to fix it. D1 is an older game that was left on a high point. D2 is a "live service" that isn't getting any service.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Wargodmini: 2/22/2026 3:11:44 PMI have been playing D2 for less than a year, and even though I am not a long time player, I feel the limited number of pvp maps, and the lack of new ones quite strongly It is a bit surprising, and I cannot find a logical explanation for it, the only reason I would avoid calling it a case of glaring neglect, is out of polite courtesy It is as if this game was designed in the past, and then the original creator had died, or something, and then they haven't been able to carry the game further in any strong way ever since However it seems very consistent all-throughout it's lifespan, which is kind of confusing, it could be the case that some serious editing has been done to the game behind the scenes, in order to smooth it out, but it would have been an extraordinary effort, effort which is in sharp contrast to the quality later delivered in itself, meaning that the editor was somehow a master editor, with the ultimate top-down view, yet somehow, not a master of creating video games, which is odd, considering how the game had started out as a masterfully done, original, and an impressive game, but maybe I am being nostalgic, and easily impressed (I am referring to D1 here) Despite this however, it is very apparent to me, that there was never a plan with this game, at any point in time

2 AntwortenHave you tried Splitgate 2 Arena? It's gunplay is not as buttery smooth as D2 but it has a lot of game modes and you can choose which ones you are queued into, you can slide for miles and it's not too serious.

2 AntwortenYep, I feel the same way. No other first person shooter game feels the same as a Bungie in house FPS. Someone, decades ago, created something so good in that studio that they have been sitting on those laurels ever since. It's the go to thing that they and everyone else boasts when it comes to Bungie games. The issue, like you said, isn't the gameplay. Never was an issue. It's nice to see someone from the PvP side voicing their complaints about their lack of engagement with and lack of adding to that side of the game. Ever since Beyond Light it has gone from a good flow to a steady trickle to now no drip for the PvP bucket at all.

I don't play PVP hardly at all, but I don't understand why Bungie just can't make an area on each planetary destination a PVP zone. Heck, take a lost sector without the ads and make it PVP. At least that would be something.
