Last month, I convinced a friend of mine to give D2 a try, which is to be completely honest not very easy to do. He plays on steam deck and doesn't have a good gaming PC (I mainly play Xbox). He told me it was downloaded and good to go so I bought him the legacy collection on sale also (my fault). But when we actually try to play we realize that it's not supported because of anti cheat reasons which was very aggravating. I'm not saying the reasons for that don't make any sense at all after looking into it but I will say that not trying to support steam deck is 100% completely lame. I searched the words "steam deck" on this site and the only mention of it was on a news article from 2022 when vow of the disciple was releasing simply stating it would not be supported, no mention at all since then. Why did his device tell him the device could run the game and let him download it without actually being able to run it? Also a somewhat related question; is Marathon also not going to be supported on steam deck because of the same reasons? Or will the fact that it's 40$ and not free make a difference? Anyways my main point is that it's super lame there's no way to play on steam deck.
