Yeah, i just cant get excited for Marathon, D3 seemed like such an easy win. I still thinks there is loads they could do and explore with a bit of imagination

It was teased in the survey they sent out just over a month ago... bringing more D1 content and progression into the current game. Then they shut down D1 servers for 24 hrs earlier this week. Nothing changed with the game. They've never had to shut down the servers before for basic maintenance. It would take around 24 hrs to transfer and backup all that data. 👀 Then 72 hrs ago Marathon pre-orders went live. Bungie hit their numbers. Finally, this one is old. Marathon is using the Tiger engine... It the most advanced build of the engine. You can look to the gaming industry for parallels, Destiny will follow suit and get that upgraded version. 1 yr 3 months-ish is my prediction.

There are too many vulnerabilities P2P has that dedicated servers do not. If you're live service, dedicated servers are a must now. They didn't even say "cost" was the factor in the past. They said that the Engine wasn't capable... at that time, required a rebuild. They did that. It is now capable. Here's what I'll say. We as Destiny players... if we have the right to demand anything. It's that. 😇👍💠 I think Bungie knows that. And that's why I think it's inevitable now that the money is right. CRA - Cost Risk Analysis.

You make a good point, if cost isnt a factor and the engine is capable then dedicated servers are a must. Everyone thats played since D1 has been asking for them. Could they be waiting for a D3 annoucement before dropping that news...one can only hope!
