All the grind up to ultimate and now I can't earn anything anymore.
Ultimate activities aren't fun at all with the time limits, anti fun modifiers, champions restricting builds, no off for them, etc
Just extend the timers way out or something.
I have loved D2 but the portal is too punishing and nothing else seems worth it. All the good weapons are behind pinnacle ops which nobody wants to do because no fun.
Aren't games supposed to be fun?

3 AntwortenBungie have forgotten how to make a fun game. They think ability spam is fun, so everything they create now is ad dense because they expect you to play with the previously mentioned meta builds. I want an FPS that has abilities in it not the other way round. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy about 30% of the game immensely. It’s the stupid modifiers and a lot of the lack of testing that ruins this game. Last season I completed Avalon a few times at -50. Twice I had to two man most of the mission as one of the other guys died. Now after this I went into Battleground Core at -30 on Ultimate in the portal. Everything was fine until we got to the boss. He -blam!--ing melted me at least three times and wiped the team, before we got it done. It’s this stupidity of the hardest mission in the game at the time being more fun than something 20 levels under it. Now I know that someone, somewhere on here is going to try to falsely educate me about the fact that difficulties in the game not being on the same scale. That’s part of the problem. The stupid modifiers have to go, the difficulty has to be standardised again across the whole game. -15 should be the same everywhere. So should -30.

Bearbeitet von Crota bin Oryx: 12/23/2025 10:00:13 AMEven the streamers who do solo content, contest mode, etc have started using terms like "not fun", "boring", "unfit", "annoying", "draining" etc for modifiers and feats. These people make money from their content (literally earn by playing) and if they feel like this, what does Bungie think the toll is going to be on people who "paid" to play. And people should stop comparing games to cinema ticket for value. You don't have feat, difficulty, repeat activities, matchmaking, lfg and toxic players etc issues to compare so the value per hour just doesn't compare.

3 AntwortenWoah there cowboy, you aren't here to have fun. /s You are here to make money for Bungie. Either by spending silver or by logging in your hours. "Respect the game", as some insane people here would like to say.

Bearbeitet von ΞsnΛχΞ: 12/23/2025 11:00:24 PM“Anti fun modifiers” is exactly right. Bungie’s concept of difficulty is to massively inconvenience the player up to a point where the game is utterly unenjoyable. It’s honestly the most uninspired approach to difficulty I’ve ever seen. First of all, you need to be able to become strong. You can just delta-force-level down any progress people make. That’s not motivating at all and it defies the very logic of progress in this game. Secondly, they can’t even beat you by putting you 50 LL under bc most guardians are already used to that garbage so they literally need to slow you or otherwise incapacitate you so they can kill you. And if you don’t realise how dumb that is: Imagine you’re a basketball player and you practise for years and years until you’re really good and then someone says “Ok, the ball weighs 10 kilos from now on, you have to wear a 50-kilo backpack while playing and also people will randomly tackle you and hold you down while you’re still expected to win bc … I mean hey, you did practised, didn’t you? Skill issue??? Thirdly, forced loadouts are getting worse every season. At this point, I have almost nothing I can use. I love my arc builds, it’s kind of an arc season and I have grinded like crazy for good arc weapons with jolting feedback etc. Now, I can’t use them bc the hardest activities, where I need my optimised loadouts the most, are default avant garde. And playing lfg most of the time basically comes down to having only new stuff equipped or you won’t find a post. All this feels awful and they keep doubling down on those same awful strategies. And I’m sure they will continue to do so until the game is completely dead.

2 AntwortenI was told by elitists to simply use the "meta builds" The sweats are coping hard about this game while it keeps bleeding players like never before, everything in Destiny 2 since lightfall has been designed to waste your time and inconvenience you to the fullest. And it is exhausting, the new player onboarding experience is the worst in the entire gaming industry and the anti-casual anti-solo mindset bungie designs the game with surely doesn't help. And its hard to complete any pinnacle mission when people wont even join your team when asking for help so the only option is to just quit with a bitter feeling having wasted an hour just to get to the FIRST boss. ugh...

7 AntwortenYeah I just got to 550 finally and find the game unplayable because it's just so annoyingly unfun I just went back on destiny break. This is not the fun I'm looking for when I need to take a break from reality and play video games
-
Games are definitely supposed to be fun but Destiny 2 is no longer just a game it's a second job for most of us now. Well, it's a job if you want to keep up. FOMO is still a thing in D2.
-
Agreed, remove the portal.
-
Totally agree with the OP. Just scrap the portal and let us carry on enjoying the OLD Destiny.
-
Don't get rid of it, but just add new activities outside of Portal. As i say, add don't replace.
-
The problem is Bungie is trying to disguise tactics to increase play time as “we’re giving you what you wanted”

Just play on advanced/expert level

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von whateverman7: 12/22/2025 8:48:45 PMFun is subjective. There is no way to make something 'fun' for everyone. When it comes to this game, do activities you enjoy. Just drop the difficulty down. Just cause you have a level open doesn't mean you have to do it. Say that cause you get the same gear dropped at all levels, the tier just varies. Which is ok cause tiers don't really matter if you get the roll you are looking for. The only tier you should shoot for is 3/4 to use the enhanced mods. Also, no, the pinnacle loot in the game is not locked behind pinnacle activity. You can get whole sets of swordmaster armor right now by just turning in cookies lol.

elitegtryin to work with whats left.. for now - 4/3/2026 12:46:30 PM
I actually thought vanguard alerts would be like a super patrol or public event calling guardians to a planet.. gathering us. That could be wild but also really make it feel like a LIVE game. Having seen the Portal now for a few weeks maybe a month (just got back) I think there is good and bad. I would first of all still start people in the world map screen with a bit clearer stuff of whats going on in the planets. This helps our immersion in the universe... we are now travelling around as a guardian. ...but defintely a clear button there to the portal to organize our pursuits. The portal itself.. geez... has a lot going on and so I gotta say it seems messy.. but it seems (from my limited experience) I know what I'm getting so I can chase that thing. I feel like I am clicking on things and being rewarded constantly and so that is good.. I am still new to the customization but I can't see how that is bad other than the interface again seems messy... maybe a slider bar with common settings or better yet > this THIS is the reward I want so do your calculations give me the difficulty necessary to achieve that might be better.. still new to it so not sure if its already set up that way. Not saying the following is all negative just NEWish > I have no idea what the added vanguard arsenal stuff is or where to read up on that... and sad I cant rank up vendors to get multiple perks.. strange no vendor engrams anymore.. wish you could pour materials (even a lot) to start tiering up a legacy weapon (I think they could limit this to like a few per season and people would have a brand spanking new chase.. for those of us that like collecting weapons)... I'm hoping crafting old stuff does eventually get released ("catch'up mechanic")... reroll on orders seems good.. event tab very useful (Dawning needed maybe 1 more weapon imo.. also no bounty is a plus for me as now I go about my day and bake as is convenient to me rather than hopping to individual planets for delivery service)... Overall though I see a lot to do - BUT Onslaught is way more interesting than some of these portal activities it needs to be available for matchmake at least on weekends or something...! To summarize I am not so negative about the Portal I just think the game could be organized from the viewpoint of a guardian reporting for duty.. and that could help organize several things and help with immersion (and then guide developers with that vision). So still overall very positive about the game 1 month back :) -
The game have sucked for many many years actually, Destiny 2 should never been made.

2 AntwortenAll the good gear should be behind difficult content. If you want it that bad, improve. Personally, I made an attempt to tackle some of it and failed epically, at which point I decided I didn't need the gear that bad after all.

I agree. I’m mainly a PvP player but dip my toe into pve . Portal is garbage🤣
