That's not starting over.
That's 'maybe' starting at 200 with your previous gear accelerating the grind.
The Tier 4 or 5 loot you get now will make leveling and adding to it go much faster.
Because that's how it works... and it will only get refined & better.
Leveling for loot make 100% sense...
Farming spoils on the easiest/cheesiest raid encounter doesn't.
Resetting card states in Trials, doesn't.
Everyone was ALREADY repeating the same **** over & over in PvE.
The only difference now?
It's mindful and requires some effort.
"Endgame" players already had Bungie walk back -10, lol.
Meanwhile I've been playing the game with no HuD, no health regen, famine, and no starting ammo for 2 weeks straight...
Still seems too easy.
The grind to 450 is no joke... it will be adjusted, and some boosts are already scheduled for September.
If you want to be on the crest of the wave RIGHT NOW, it requires effort...

Your current tier 5 gear could possibly, if true to form, lose the green bonus season numbers, and return to base 200 power when the unstable cores also are set to expire. If Avant garde is still a modifier, this season's gear won't be usable next season in endgame since we have curated loadouts/builds including the featured exotics this season. Of course it's subject to change due to feedback, live service and all.

Not disputing any of that. But what we know is that Tiered loot has a luck stat built into it... So even if none of those conditions are changed, it will help you grind new stuff. They underestimated how loot hungry we are... These upper-level loot mechanics aren't fully flushed out on their end... But that will change. Probably for the better. Probably soon.

I'm not saying I never feel like that. I take a break when I do. I'll yell at my monitor for 30 mins 😅. Sometimes the loot is so good I take a break, lol. Then I'm singing... When the table is hot... it's smoking. Like tonight, I'm not grinding at all. I wanted to hit 425 by tomorrow, I'm there so I'm on pace. Sunday was amazing for me... not everyday has been like that. I went most of week rolling gutter balls and duped slot Primes.
