With the upcoming Blight Ranger buff I feel the need to address the underlying problem with the exotic's unique playstyle. I personally really enjoy the playstyle the exotic is trying to push ever since it was part of Raiju's Harness. It's definitely gotten far closer to the ideal exotic for turning your super into something you can regularly use defensively in neutral. I honestly hope that the vision it is currently trying to perform doesn't change as I can see it working if not for a couple of major flaws. Probably the biggest one is the lack of a Taunt when blocking with Arc Staff. Could be built into the exotic or into Arc Staff itself but it becomes extremely noticeable when you are in a fireteam once enemies lose aggro towards you as your teammates draw aggro while firing normally. When that happens you get no benefit from the exotic and pretty much have to turn it off immediately to not waste super. You cannot really ask teammates to stand behind you either because of how small the block is. The next is the reflected damage not counting as Ability/Super damage. I feel if the reflected projectiles could trigger max Bolt Charge it would solve a lot of issues on the reflected damage feeling lacking. If you have Unravel then you can actually get the Bolt Charge on reflect to trigger consistently when reflecting which feels great currently. However being dependent on the Artifact or Final Warning feels awful but it has really shown me how great it could feel if you could trigger Bolt Charge off reflecting. Overall I really enjoy the exotic. Especially in the current season when Unraveling Orbs can help make up for the damage on reflect from the constant Unravel damage being able to trigger Bolt Charge. Using it in a fireteam however is especially tough, especially if you have any allied Barricades active as it can be difficult to draw and maintain aggro. I hope these issues could be addressed so the Blight Ranger's playstyle can finally have its time to shine.
