I renewed my Guardian rank without completing all objectives
So I was on Guardian Rank 6, renewing guardian rank 7. I had two objectives left: Complete final shape missions on cooperative difficulty and defeat bane empowered enemies in Nightfalls. I just finished the second objective and got the prompt to renew my rank at the tower. This doesn't make much sense to me though. I Still haven't done the other objective yet now I'm rank 7 with rank 8 in progress. Are nightfall objectives part of seasonal renewal? Is it because I've never done the defeat bane empowered enemies objective before?

Back in Episode Revenant, an objective mistakenly referenced (and worked with) the Dungeon-exclusive exotic Icebreaker, instead of the season pass exotic, Alethonym. Bungie's fix was to reduce the amount of ranks needed to reach GR7 by one. That let people finish that objective if they had Icebreaker, or ignore it and complete the others. This reduced requirement however seems to still be active in Episode: Heresy, letting us reach GR7 by doing all but one of the objectives.
