Strikes:
content is too hard for them apparently.
Especially casual titan players.
Just watched 2 titans wipe the end of a battleground because they didn't have good survivability (not their fault, titans have been poorly designed compared to the other classes), they couldn't handle the amount of adds, didn't know how to do the mechanics (Orbital prison: pick up mote; throw ball at boss), weren't killing the threshers, were dying to the miasma.
Solution:
Remove the darkness zone in all strike content. no more wiping
Lower the difficulty in strikes. -5 is too much for them.
Raids:
Lotta people feel like they're being excluded from raids because they don't wanna watch a youtube guide and take the time to learn an activity before stepping into LFG.
Lotta LFG people don't wanna take the time to teach people especially with the newest raid being difficult to teach.
Lot of people don't have good builds when hopping into these activities.
Solution:
Separate the raiding experience into these 3 parts:
Casual
Normal
Master
Normal & Master work the same as they do today; Each encounter drops loot, revive tokens enabled, wiping enabled, raid exotic drops from final boss, etc etc.
Casual Mode explained:
Wiping is disabled.
Revive tokens are disabled.
No time limits.
Fireteam Matchmaking enabled (You can randomly match up with other beginners)
Difficulty level: Patrol.
Raid exotic: Disabled
Enjoy dying as much as you want, learning the encounters at your own pace, and getting the experience you want so that you can apply them into normal mode.
Good luck though because without watching a guide it'll be 6 people running around with their heads cut off.
You only get 1 piece of raid loot for a full clear.
This casual mode is only to teach you the mechanics. You are strongly encouraged to use fireteam finder to participate in Normal Mode to get more raid loot.
Same concept can apply to dungeons.
"Win win everybody is happy."
Less time spent on teaching because the beginners will teach themselves or won't engage with the content because its too frustrating to deal with randoms who don't know what they're doing
...ironic.
1 AntwortenThe only aspect of this that I like is the idea of a Casual raid or Dungeon mode. But I don’t think it should reward raid loot. Raid & Dungeon loot is usually very powerful. The reason for that is to incentivize people to learn & get better at endgame/harder activities.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von BarStool: 1/30/2025 11:55:59 AMIf people consider this game too hard, I don’t know what to say. I just used a Lightning Surge Prismatic Warlock in a GM and completed that GM rather quickly, and rather easily. Now I will admit that it wasn’t solo, but I was the highest scoring individual of the GM so all things considered, the fact that people find this came difficult is hilarious to me. Edit: it was the corrupted so not a particularly hard GM if you are hyper aggressive and know what you’re doing, but my point stands.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Fett: 1/30/2025 12:44:44 AMI agree with most everything you just said but I need to disagree with the statement that this game is catering to casuals (currently), and I don't want Bungie to think this game is casual friendly. Because right now, it is the furthest from casual friendly it's been since vanilla D2. It's a huge factor why so many people stopped playing. Couple examples being -Seeing swords on patrol zones and entry difficulty seasonal/episodic activities. -Putting a power cieling on basic activities -Removal of weapon crafting These 3 things are HUGE driving factors for eliminating so much of the player base. So i love your suggestions on the changes to difficulties and casual modes for raids/dungeons.

Apparently -5 is just too much for some reason.
-
5 AntwortenBe careful you’re making too much sense you might get forum ban.
-
7 AntwortenThe game is FAR from catering to casuals! You know it, I know it, Bungie knows it. Trying to make it sound otherwise is disingenuous.
-
First sensible post regarding difficulty I’ve seen for years.

Bearbeitet von BackdoorBacon: 1/28/2025 9:51:20 PMGood post. We definitely need more accessible lower tiers of raids especially. I really like the scaling boss damage boost and ad spawn tuning when solo that Bungie said they are doing for the Heresy seasonal activity too.

9 AntwortenFine ideas. And when the people who only run casual mode raids begin their trademark tantrums about not getting the same gear as the "gatekeepers," "sweats," "no-lifers," and "elitists" is unfair, then what do you propose?
-
2 AntwortenFor strikes i could agree, but your raid ideas are not just dumb, but absolutely ridiculous.
-
2 AntwortenOh this is sassy.

1 AntwortenStrikes are tough for newer players because they increased the hp and damage of the enemies by quite a lot. I'm not sure the exact difference but back when Lightfall launched they increased Nightfall enemy hp and damage, they also removed the lowest tier difficulty. They then increased damage and hp of enemies to match Nightfalls and the only difference is the modifiers. Strike enemies should NOT have the same hp and damage pool of a Nightfall enemy.

1 AntwortenI like this. It could help breathe new life into the raiding population.
-
2 AntwortenAdding onto the raid section, allow encounter selection. If you want to teach Verity, you shouldn't have to do the first 3 encounters. Checkpoints should just be officially added to the game, save people having to find checkpoint bots.
-
1 AntwortenAs someone who's done a lot of raids (+1,000) and a lot of sherpas (~500), I think this is a really solid idea and can get behind this.
-
1 AntwortenLol - go watch Chablo’s stream about Ego’s
-
I'd be okay with patrol level raid activities so long as it awards no raid loot.
-
3 Antworten
Lotta people feel like they're being excluded from raids because they don't wanna watch a youtube guide and take the time to learn an activity before stepping into LFG.
These are exactly the kind of lazy players we’re trying to exclude.

Bearbeitet von PK_Haseo: 1/29/2025 3:08:20 AMThis game doesn’t count 👎as casual or passive if content being removed after 6-9 months. Warframe - Free 2 Play with no BS paid DLC story.

1 AntwortenWell said I put the exact same idea forward a few times but the same certain accounts downvote it into oblivion ,especially about the raid exotic not being a reward on what you would call casual mode I was just spammed with replys from the top% saying no Git gud ,stop asking for handouts ,or they say no! players will still complain because they didn't get the exotic

11 AntwortenIt's incredible how if a player absorbs an inkling of third party information their performance skyrockets. . Almost as if players better than you can teach you something.....
-
1 AntwortenSome good points IMO
-
Ran a few Nightfalls yesterday to fill out some Pathfinder cards, and loading in with white gear and 1900 weapons (to help out low level blueberries) there was a team that was stuck in the first room for over 10 minutes struggling with the Barrier Champion. Also, I can't imagine missing out on literally the best content in Destiny, yet less than 15% of the playerbase has completed a Raid. They really do need to make an easy mode with matchmaking so that players can learn the mechanics, but keep the rewards like the exotic or red borders in the regular modes. Maybe it will be part of the different difficulty options that is coming in Frontiers, which would be nice.

1 AntwortenSolid idea on casual raid mode. I still can't believe they haven't remoded the -5 from playlist strikes. Literally the dumbest thing ever.
