I’ve played since the first week of D1 & raids are my favorite. Then there was a normal mode where we could revive each other and one with higher difficulty and limited revives. (As a solar warlock you could revive yourself).
Thanks to salvations edge, a streamer somewhere is satisfied, but players now deem it a waste of time. I read these forums for 30 minutes and the raid is not mentioned.
If I were trying to kill this game, nerf the well of radiance, add potion crafting tied to megafarming tomb & onslaught, bring back ice breaker with no ammo regen, and instead of delighting in slaying the big boss, now the difficulty is set to “Glad that is over”.
Guess I need a better chair but really my problem is that I have enjoyed the pleasures of Destiny’s great past.
Heck, bring back fishing. No-one had time to complete those triumphs.

Maybe just don't die.

2 AntwortenRevive tokens in general are just awful and no fun.

If you have more than six deaths on any raid encounter, you deserve to wipe
Whats up with the ice breaker slander?
1 AntwortenRez tokens shouldn't be a thing for normal raids. That crap should only be for hard mode.

Part of my issue with revive tokens is the timer. Like I can get teammates being unable to play because of revive tokens being spent, but having a full wipe because you got unlucky and the guy had the last revive token so you are forced to wipe is beyond stupid. Even D1 not only never had revive tokens, but the Year 1 hard modes had no revives at all and it was still fun. Yes it was in part because of Sunsinger's self rez, but even without it it was great to manage survival and if a teammate messed up, other than Crota's Oversoul or Golgoroth's old wipe mechanic, you could still play through without too much issue unless most of the team wipes before you got much dps on them.

Bearbeitet von Guardian, Archon Of Light: 1/19/2025 5:22:56 PMRemove them completely, they prevent hero moments Like that time in D1, I had to finish confluxes solo because everyone else was dead , wouldn't have been possible in D2

Straight up, this is the major reason I was turned off on raiding in d2 and why I'll never likely raid as much as I did in D1. So many clutch moments and teaching was far less stressful and more rewarding .

Or remove them from the base raid and only have them in the hard modes Not having revive tokens is one of the things that made D1 raids so memorable. Can't tell you how crazy it was watching 1 player clutch the encounter by chain reviving the whole team.

3 Antworten
Thanks to salvations edge, a streamer somewhere is satisfied, but players now deem it a waste of time
SE is a waste of time b/c they added red borders raiding. Once red borders are obtained, the reason for running said raid becomes zero; bar running with friends for fun.

Bearbeitet von Killapete232: 1/20/2025 8:42:46 AMI have every fishing triumph done with 8500 fish caught. It was more than enough time imo, just that bait was a pain to farm. Would be nice to have fishing back.

Raids are significantly easier now than they were back then, unlimited revives would make them boring since there's no challenge. Hero moments are cool and they should do away with shared fate but revive tokens need to stay. Just be grateful they didn't give us the D1 hard mode treatment and have no revives at all

SE is probably the worst raid to bring up here. Even with more resurrections you got this very unforgiving wipe timer and strict mechanics all the time.

22 AntwortenBearbeitet von xbroggiex: 1/19/2025 1:40:35 PMI think a middle ground that solves the rez token issue and allows people to complete the raids more consistently without being overtly easier would be a system in which you have "rez tokens" per player but they have a cooldown. For example: Player 1 has a "rez token" available. Player 2 dies. Player 1 resurrects Player 2. Player 1 loses their "rez token" and is put on cooldown for 30-45 seconds before they regain their "rez token" During that time period Player 1 cannot revive anyone until the token returns. This system imo I think is better since it would be better for weaker players in raids while also allowing for a few mistakes for experienced players. Then just have the Master mode be like how rez tokens are now with 1 per player and no-more than that.

4 AntwortenI enjoyed raiding in D1. I could learn the raid in the more ‘forgiving’ normal mode then move onto hard mode. With normal mode getting dropped in D2 I haven’t even done a handful of raids in this game.
