How many of the haters on this forum do you suppose will be playing it on day 1?

If you play Destiny and own a mobile odds are you'll try it regardless of any thoughts on D2. Disgruntled or happy, an addict is an addict.

-
lol I’ll try it but I don’t need a second destiny in my life to throw away another ten years 😂
How many of the haters on this forum do you suppose will be playing it on day 1?
Every single one of them.

I will out myself as a "hater" and can say with 100% certainty I won't be a day 1 player and unlikely to ever play this new iteration of the game. Can never say never as circumstances/views change but right now it feels like a bit of a long road back for the Destiny brand/franchise or whatever. I am not even playing content I have already paid for let alone thinking about future content associated content.
-
You mean the ones with 1900 accounts that hate everything in D2 but secretly play non stop on other accounts while dressed in a Cayde onesie? Yeah they’ll be playing it haha.
-
Whoa, I can get a Cayde onesie?!?!?!? 😯
-
Just ask Sam. I’m sure he has a dozen or so haha.
-
Oh -blam!-. I feel kinda called out. I probably won’t seriously play it or anything. Might have it just to hop in once or twice a week if I’m board and away from home. Otherwise I’m sticking to Destiny. I will say the trailer did kinda sell me to the idea.

I think it's supposed to be free-to-play, isn't it? Sure, it'll likely have microtransactions out the wazoo but if it costs nothing, it can't hurt to give the game a try.
-
I don’t spend Money on anything that doesn’t add gameplay value, and even then, if it’s earnable in game, I won’t spend money on it. Microtransactions have little effect on me personally. I’m not a whale.
-
I certainly can't fault you for that.

Bearbeitet von jhermannITJ: 10/14/2024 9:36:04 PMI think it's great for that Jmann... a silver lining on a couple of fronts. Potential competition, that Sony has full discretion over... that's good. Revenue and subsidy for solvency and development of the core franchise... that's good. In Lieux of better early game and onboarding... something we still need, something I'm critical of... a place for a casual Destiny experience... that's good. But potential story spoilers... I am not happy about that. That didn't need to be in there. This is mostly good, I won't be playing it... but it will still help this game. So, a lot, lol.
-
I won't be playing it either; even if I did still have a smart phone, gaming on one when I have a perfectly serviceable console and television just seems silly to me. My point though was whether that version of the game might upstage the original and lead to some competition between the two, and what the potential fallout could be. Do you think that would be beneficial to both overall, or if one/both could suffer for it?
-
Sony has full discretion over the license. If they felt it wasn't serving the original 3.4 bln dollar asset, they won't renew the license... or could cancel it. But that's worst-case scenario. There's some risk... but it's low. Probably will make the core franchise better.

Why are you replying to your own posts? That’s weird.
