Is Bungie even playing their own game? Matchmaking is a -blam!- joke. Worst experience ever!

Matchmaking across the board in pvp is horrific. I’m constantly paired with dumb & dumber if I don’t run a stack.
-
It appears to work differently for different players. Some people have very strict matchmaking (matching within their rank, long queue times, getting timed out of matchmaking). Others, like me, have much looser matchmaking (matching 2 ranks above/below, reasonable queue times, rarely timed out of matchmaking). Are we actually matching by rank (as Bungie said), or is it still SBMM?

I often get matched against platinum despite the fact I'm ascendant and the outcome isn't even close to fair

It's just pvp

Works fine for me… every lobby I play in is only ascendant players. Maybe a rare adept player in a blue moon.

2 AntwortenSee, what's funny, is that you would think the Marathon team would share any insight into matchmaking mechanics for D2 PvP to ensure they're capable of working. Kinda like a preliminary testing before the game even launches. Using us as test dummies. The fact that no such thing seems to be happening tells me one of two things will occur: 1.) No communication = D2 PvP will be left to rot once Marathon releases in hopes Marathon will attract the PvP faithful. 2.) They are communicating secretly and if this is the best they can muster, then Marathon is dead in the water and Bungie better embrace their Sony takeover. Either way, D2 PvP isn't looking good for the future and neither is Bungie. Even if Marathon has modest success, it will never outpace Destiny due to extraction shooters appealing to a super niche audience.
