Coil great seasonal activity design
Your rewards are proportionate to your investment. The activity can be ended quickly after the first round 10 mins at a time or you can deep dive into a 40 min activity that makes it feel worth the effort. The difficulty is just as it should be, beginning easy and slowly ramping up the challenge.
You saved the best season for last. Thank you.

6 Antworten40 mins?? I have never done a coil to the end (team wipe or last round) in less than 1 hr+. Absolutely not worth my time for 1 run. I despise Coil.

Disagree. Breaking pots to get a high score in a fps is just stupid. I’m not going to do a 40-60 minute activity if there is a good chance I don’t get platinum.

1 AntwortenAgreed. I do find the actual environment and fights kind of tedious but that’s kind of par for the course with seasonal activities.

What they did in coil is a design I've been asking for years... limited in scope, but it's based on the "attrition tower". I love attrition towers. Traditionally, it's a tower or pit w levels of escalating difficulty and rewards. One of my favorites is in "Blazing Heroes"/"Mystaria"... it was a 50 floor inverted tower, you don't get any loot unless you make it in and out... so 100 levels. Edit: It might be 50, 25 down... 25 up. It was a tRPG on Dreamcast. The tower existed in a hidden town at the top of a mountain. Final Fantasy is also known for attrition towers... the one in 13 was pretty spicy. The Coil is a very simplified version of an "attrition tower".
