Bungie, stop matching matchmade solo players against better-skilled players in stacks in pvp. Stacks already have the advantage of coordination and communication. Also bad enough that pvp is plagued with cheaters. But caving in yet again to elites wanting easy matches and flex YT videos and streams is seriously unfair to those who don't have those skills and advantages.
Here's where those better-skilled players who are benefitting from those advantages regurgitate "git gud" to lesser-skilled players who they need to be willing to be serve as cannon fodder to gin up their kdas. But I've listened to elite YT content creators and Twitch streamers deride SBMM as the work of Satan in order to condition newbs and casuals that elites routinely curb-stomping them is totally OK and natural. I've also heard those same elites whine about having to play against other similarly-skilled players as too sweaty. But they want lesser-skilled players to have to play against them (elites). No, that's not hypocritical or self-serving at all (/S)!
Bungie, players are leaving the game and avoiding pvp. Consistently catering to the minority of players is only making things worse. Yes, practice makes perfect. But when elites are allowed to summarily mow down newbs, all the latter will learn is how to respawn. And eventually, they realize that pvp just ain't worth it.

There's a player who obviously benefits from the status quo, and has called me everything but a child of God for suggesting that Bungie make pvp more fair,.

1 AntwortenYeah, it’s really bad with the stacks. They’ll put a three stack on both sides along with maybe three solos. Which immediately means those solos are getting stomped by the stacks. They’ve basically created DOTA, with three heroes and three adds on both sides. And guess what? Being one of those “adds” isn’t fun.

Yeah, streamers are pretty sad, really. I used to love watching Aztec, but he's such a shameful sellout now. People were happy with solo que. I was happy with solo que. I played maybe two matches to try the "lobby balancing" and haven't touched it since Not because of why you might think though. Because of cross play and team lag. I'll explain. Teams are composed of players who live hundreds and thousands of miles apart. They bring their own lag with them. They also have consoles and PC on the same team. This introduces cross platform lag. That combination results in horrible lag for the rest of us. It ruins the fun. Solo que allows players to be drawn in from a smaller radius. If you're on PC, it also doesn't match with consoles. A PC only lobby is beautiful. Lag is so rare that when you do see it you don't even care. In current lag filled lobbies I get killed before I even get in front of the door the opposing player killed me through. The people hosting see everyone else a full half second to second before they are themselves seen.

3 AntwortenThey are not good at PvP. It is frustrating but as soon as you realize that it does make it better.

4 AntwortenYou have to really be bad, or just have a poor mindset to be beat so much in a pvp game that you think it's a conspiracy in the matchmaking design. Here's some perspective, good players lose too. Sometimes get mercied multiple times in a row. Good players take it in stride and improve (git gud) their play instead of blaming it on the developers. I've never been beat so bad in a pvp game that I thought "it's got to be that dam matchmaking which led me to lose" lol

1 AntwortenIt's getting bad, the placement series kept putting me with people who the moment the lost a round would ditch. I kept having 2v3 matches turn into 1v3, with me as the one. Some of them just turned into toxic matches with a whole fire team just using jotun. They should just seriously ban Jotün from at least placement matches. Another thing, they should make it so that whenever a player starts getting reported for griefing, it start adding to a black mark sheet. Hit 5 marks and they are banned from crucible for a month, 10 = 3 months, 20 = full year.

There is not enough people playing I bet.

2 AntwortenI leave. Every single time. Lobby balancing is something Bungie hasn’t even noticed in the last 5 straight years.

It's not Bungies fault your exact skill matched player is playing with a stacked team!

I drink sweat for breakfast, you should do the same.

5 Antworten95% of groups are just kids playing a game together. That 5% who are super coordinated are getting the outcomes they deserve for playing well. Move on with your life.

12 AntwortenBearbeitet von Zodleon: 12/11/2023 8:26:07 PM
consistently catering to a minority of players
🤨 they've been catering pretty hard to casual *reads as don't like pvp* players for a minute now and it hasn't really drawn in a meaningful amount of them to consistently play crucible. Are we classifying casuals as the minority now. No matter what you do except hand them free wins they aren't going to enjoy crucible. Yeah ppl aren't leaving the game bc pvp, if the population was higher you'd see both a tighter skill grouping and fireteam size matching, get everyone to come back and this should sort itself out. Second paragraph is just the same pro sbmm propaganda.

3 Antwortenlets start with the first sentence, it doesnt need the word better, just stacks. makes you seem like you want worse opponents. which undermines your point bungie has already stated they don't "cave to streamer yt content creators" you either believe them or don't, considering the number of unpopular among all players decisions they make i tend to believe it. but i also dont give a blam about streamer opinions.
I've also heard those same elites whine about having to play against other similarly-skilled players as too sweaty. But they want lesser-skilled players to have to play against them (elites). No, that's not hypocritical or self-serving at all (/S)!
seriously you think ppl arent going to get a different tone with you when you completely disregard their point of view and the you get mad when they disregard your oppinion. smh nah take the licks you give otherwise its hypocrisy. if you're gonna be sarcastic off rip about others opinions expect the same. they have been catering to the casual player base in pvp for over a year now, AE was for casuals, sbmm was for casuals, effectively free trials loot was for casuals. and its done nothing for the pvp population, to assert they have been catering to the hardcore minority is wrong, and to assert that catering to casuals would fix anything is wrong, demonstrably so. and for your last point
And eventually, they realize that pvp just ain't worth it.
theres a subset of ppl who just aren't pvp ppl, and never will be, ever, they don't like competitive setting, yet they still have strong opinions on pvp, they will never think pvp is worth it. considering that you seem to block anyone who disagrees with you enough, ill take my block now, and enjoy your echo chamber

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von GIVE EM HELLBOY: 12/10/2023 3:27:52 PMI think everyone should be open to playing anyone. I didnt get good at Halo 3 by being forced to fight other little Jimmys 24/7. I was offered a variety of skill levels in my matches. And this is assuming SBMM actually does its job properly in the first place by offering dead even matches. But it really doesnt do this and it hasnt for awhile now. MW 2019 brought questionable SBMM to light. With every new CoD, now D2 again, and Halo Infinite, I prefer to call it Engagement Optomized Matchmaking (EOMM). Because rather than matching based off of true skill, the game tries to nudge you in whatever direction it wants by offering lopsided matches. Im either fighting a losing battle carrying the low skill players, the same players who SBMM should be protecting, against giga sweats. Or the total reverse, where my team is all my skill or above and we decimate the enemy. This has happened with every modern triple a shooter I touched. And Im honestly fed up with it. It isnt enjoyable, the pro players will still stomp, the bad will still get stomped, and the middle is stuck in a limbo 50% W/L hell. These devs need to either open up the matchmaker or I better see everyone on both teams being akin to me.

The first problem is population. Less players means less good teammates(when lobby balancing works in your favor). And yes I think there should be a freelance quickplay for crucible with connection based. People getting matched with stacks is bad on top of bad meta and horrible map rotation. Too many factors that can ruin the experience. Trust me, 90% of the time when I play crucible by myself I get matched with stacks of 2-4 players in a fireteam and they get put in the same team. Which makes my experience horrible and frustrating.
-
1 AntwortenThe population is too thin in PvP and bungies matchmaking constraints are not well thought out for lower skill players.
-
3 AntwortenPvp is dead. If only bungie hired me to lead the pvp team. To bad they didn’t, and now Sony is going to own them outright and destiny will officially be dead
-
2 AntwortenBut how else will Joe and The Team ever beat anyone?
-
1 AntwortenPeople in stacks lag because it over rides any connection based mm because the group is allowed to play together without any ping limits. Solo cbmm Playlist would make the most sense to make the game function better.

3 AntwortenCareful guy if he doesn't agree with you he'll block you, have fun with that information. 😃

Transparency will help. Create a Freelance/Solo que area.. show us active population. Create a team/stack area.. show them the population. What you'll see is a majority of players que solo and you ruin their experience. Also, when the algo is able to balance and solos beat or have a fair game against a stack.. thats great its nice (+3 joy)... but when you lose to a stack the solo player is frustrated to a level way beyond the joy (-8 joy) felt in a fair and balanced or even win against a stack. Your data will not show this Bungie. You need to realize it. Activate freelance.. let us hit a quick survey after PVP matches (yes its ok commendations are.. I'll be kind.. not so important.) -
Ironbanner has SBMM which widens its search radius of time and thankfully so. I got multiple friends that get error coded in comp because their matchmaking takes to long. Image going through about 50 IB matches like that 😂
