Bearbeitet von SnakeEyes734: 11/2/2023 11:09:49 PMYup. Funny how they mentioned trust...."first you get players trust, then increase that players retention, then you get all their revenues". They are LITERALLY doing the same song and dance lol Guardians rejoice. I think my Stockholm syndrome has been cured!

Bearbeitet von Asgaeroth: 11/2/2023 9:59:34 PMNah, Bungie is one of the less greedy companies out there, and that's one of the big problems. Bungie has been very able to put out some great products that sold really well with very minimal complaints about greediness. There's a major problem happening that makes you see them as greedy now. The game itself is in a really bad state. When the game is in a bad state, the people at the top have to make really difficult decisions because the players ghost on them. The devs have leaned into all the things people hated about the original game and early D2 as if they were the cornerstones of their success. Those stacking little miseries are now at their peak worst forms, and all the things people loved about Destiny enough to ignore those things have been removed and replaced with horrible crap. There's no reason to sunset weapons. There's no reason to have replaced Mars with Neptune. Lightfall probably would have sold 10x more copies if they had just announced Mars was returning as paid content with no changes. They didn't need to make horrible new content when we have excellent old content that was arbitrarily removed so Little Timmy didn't have to buy a $40 SSD. Someone who can't afford storage in 2023 isn't going to buy your expansion, who was this change for? The end game is too exclusive. I've never seen an ad for Destiny in my life, but I see an ad for Destiny carry services almost every day for years. The carry services make more money than Destiny itself, that's reason #1 the ship is going down. Nerf the dang raids and dungeons, 10 years ago. The devs are in on it, they probably own those carry services. We got played by the people who the forum is en masse out to support. I literally got an ad for Destiny carry services while I was typing this post.

1 AntwortenBungie ruined Bungie. They are the definition of greed. I hope their dumb revenue predictions fall flat and the company gets dumped by Sony aswell to then go bankrupt. This company is terrible, capitalistic and disrespects their main source of income. Their customers.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von nusho: 11/1/2023 2:17:50 PMAbsolutely. The game is not free to play. It's an extremely expensive game, one of the most expensive games I've ever seen, where they simply added a completely insufficient "free to try" option, all so that they could also include microtransactions and other nickel and dime strategies. This is your typical predatory psychomarketing garbage. Think about how insane that is for a moment. Taking one of the most expensive games on the market and unironically adding the F2P label to it so that they could be even MORE predatory with an in-game store and microtransactions, on top of nickel and diming everyone to death with seasons, dungeons, holiday events and other BS. Literally charging for every little thing on top of a game that already costs a small fortune to play. If you want to get the game and the expansions, you're spending $200+ easy, and that doesn't even include the seasons, dungeons and other things. If you want those, you either need to spend extra on the deluxe editions or buy them all separately as you go. Either way, it's predatory, and Bungie can go eff-yew-see-kay themselves. How people haven't absolutely been utterly pissed about this all this time is beyond me.

Eververse, Pre-orders, Seasons and Expansions live service is ruining gaming
-
3 AntwortenThe greed actually comes from selling past expansions for too much, so there is no influx of new players due to the cost being too high. There are no new players basically.
-
9 AntwortenWhat's crazy is nobody is pointing any blame towards the streamers/content creators. Who wanted the higher difficulty? Who asked for nerfs to specific exotics? But they don't get paid by Bungie directly so they aren't affected. A half hearted DLC gets released with an increase in difficulty with major nerfs to exotics, and somehow people are confused why people don't play or pay for the game anymore. Sure Bungie cut some costs at reducing the staff, but the player retention isn't 100% on them. Catering to people who profit from playing the game shouldn't be the main focus. Now look at what they've done. Even with all of this the content creators are still profiting from making YouTube videos about what's going on. The blinds stares of a million pairs of eyes. Keep riding that hamster wheel guardians.[

4 AntwortenGreed is ruining gaming, FromSoft and CD project Red seems to be the only companies dishing out quality content.
-
6 AntwortenI’d say stupidity lead to this. When you put making your customers happy lower on the list of priorities eventually it bites you in the -blam!-. Maybe short term greed ahead of being smart. If you milk something hard you do make more Money to start with. But eventually you make lightfall.
-
They ruined themselves. Greed went along for the ride.
-
Not entirely! Just really bad choices !
-
2 AntwortenDid you mean: Bungie ruined Greed ?
-
1 AntwortenI think poor management has been and continues to be the root issue. And sure greed might be driving those bad decisions. $$$ vs long-term playability of the game. I think having the next expansion come out during the summer could be a really good idea. Many times there are very few games during that time. I've only purchased the seasons for the last few years. I'm not paying $50 for a subclass and a tiny bit of content.
-
1 AntwortenThat's all? Where's laziness, incompetence and tone deafness?
-
1 AntwortenBro imagine ninja rollin here and says “Ninjaaaaa” *gets locked*
-
1 AntwortenYou are more correct than you realize. The greed came when they decided to start decreasing the quality of the content in order to increase their profit margin. It’s a stupid idea, because as you decrease quality, you decrease player engagement and cash flow. They invent these cheap marketing tactics to combat the profit loss, and it never works for very long. They’re taking the “cheap Disney cartoon low budget sequel” approach. The decision makers don’t understand gamers. They think we’ll buy whatever crap they churn out. They’re finding out that isn’t the case. If they would invest in their product and improve quality, they would spend more now, but they would build up player retention and improve the revenue stream for years to come.
-
Part of it. Lying to us and taking us for granted didn’t help much either.
-
2 AntwortenNot so! Yes hey need to make money, they are a company with employees to pay. Greed did not decide to make the game harder Greed did not make the changes to build crafting Greed did not make all the woke agenda crap they have been pushing Greed did not make any of the changes that have happened over the last few years like sun setting and content vault The truth is that bungie missed the financial mark they had set because players, average players, regular players, who said enough was enough. We stopped purchasing silver and only bought base game, or did not purchase at all. You make a game not accessible to the masses they will move on. We did and we are not coming back. Bungie lined themselves up for this from the developers at bungie and their leadership who made all the unpopular changes to the suits who have a legit concern about making money to pay the bills. NO Company is 45% in the red and gets away with it! Bungie missed by 45%. That is HUGE!
-
If Bungie assures us that the battle against Witness and the end of Destiny's larger story will be absolutely complete within Final Sharp, we may still be able to get our pre-orders back for the standard edition.
-
Bearbeitet von Witness: 11/1/2023 5:46:29 PMYep and I hope there company crumbles to the ground and final shape never releases. Bungie doesn’t deserve a penny more I’m 100% sure activision wasn’t the problem instead it’s bungie that is the problem I’m definitely thinking about cancelling final shape or should I say final bull****
-
Yes, it sure looks like they made some bad decisions. I personally haven’t bought any silver or the Final Shape yet… maybe never. But money is tight right now, some amazing games launched this year, and real life take priority over games. Hope they realize that lots of external factors are contributing to this loss in projected revenue. I’m sure taking resources away from their money maker to make a PvP only game hurt everything too.
