I’m hyped.
Ending the era from how we started on journey back in d1.
Get to know the characters more.
I don’t care for new subclasses or weapons.
I play for the story.
Wish they told it a little bit better than lore books. Bing back all the old content so we can replay through all of destiny 2 again but that won’t happen .
I'd have said neither but the option wasn't there. Passion left this game a long time ago. Makes me wonder if Marty was the soul all along.
With everything coming out this was bungies last chance to reel me in. I suspect a lot of people feel the same. Loaded up the game after cause you know new season. Artifact looks trash. New season board was fun the first time. Little less the next. Can't imagine myself running it 9+ times a week for the next few months.
Sounds like nothing big coming after final shape. During the Q/A after the showcase, they where asked what comes after episode 3 and the answer was episode 4. Joe said that they still have a few devs that are passionate about the game and want to add new content, but to me this just sounds like most devs are tired of working on destiny and want to move on.
I am both hyped and disappointed. The Destiny franchise ( Destiny 2 especially ) is probably my biggest love/hate relationship in the world of gaming. The showcase did nothing to change that. This game had incredible potential but it's been wasted. They could have used the showcase as a way to not only get players hyped for The Final Shape but also announce some quality-of-life changes that are sorely needed. I'll point out a few for example and I'm sure most people would disagree with my choices.
- Exotics are nearly pointless. What's the point of working towards getting Exotics if you never use the majority of them simply because you can't based on limitations? The game needs to step away from the single weapon and single armor Exotic that you can use. In Diablo IV I can literally run around with unique armor pieces in pretty much every slot.
This doesn't make me overpowered but it does change my build in a very fun way. Bungie needs to take follow suit and at least allow us to use two Exotic weapons and two Exotic armor pieces at all times. There are a lot of Exotic armor pieces that probably would have great synergy with each other and make builds more fun.
This idea would also put less pressure on the weapons development team to feel pressure on creating new Legendary weapons for each weapon type and archetype. The introduction of two new archetypes for existing weapon types is only going to increase this pressure in my opinion. The need for fewer new Legendary weapons is also going to reduce the feeling that weapons are just re-skinned versions. So it's time for Bungie to remove those limitations on Exotic armor and weapons.
- Why are load-outs locked behind character progression? Something like loadouts should be a quality-of-life improvement that should be accessible for every player regardless of their Guardian rank. locking something like this behind Guardian ranks progression is a sad way to pressure players into playing. To clarify I only have 6 ( before the bug happened ) load-outs and I recently learned that the final 4 were moved to Guardian rank 9 instead of 7 a while ago. This makes it near impossible for me to gain those. I'm a very casual, solo, and introvert player so multiple things in the game aren't attainable for me. Simply put it's just sad to see a basic quality of life improvement being used as a way to pressure players into playing more.
- This final point I'm going to make is going to be most controversial but it ties into my nature as a solo casual introvert player. As I've said I'm a very basic casual solo player and I don't really enjoy being forced to team up and communicate with people I don't know. All the people I knew that played Destiny quit a long time ago for various reasons. So when I saw their new Fireteam Finder addition to the game I felt disappointed. It really seems that Bungie doesn't care much for the solo player and tries to find ways to keep pushing solo players to play with strangers they don't know.
Instead of doing that they could try and make certain lore-heavy activities such as Dungeons and Raids more solo friendly. I remember a long time ago there was a glitch that would allow people to enter Raids with 12 players. I've heard people saying that this was the most fun they've ever had in Destiny. Imagine if you could have Raids that have 1,3,6,9 and 12-player versions. They could easily change how the Raid would work for 1,3,9 or 12 people and adjust difficulty and rewards accordingly but this still would allow EVERYONE to experience the raid. The same goes for Dungeons. Now I can understand putting a player limit on a Dungeon because it's supposed to be a mini Raid but I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy being able to at least bring 6 players into their favorite dungeon.
I'm sure Bungie is never going down that route and people are going to hate my opinion on that but someone can dream, right? I've never completed King's Fall, Vault of Glass, Leviathan, Last Wish, Deep Stone Crypt, Vow of the Disciple, and Root of Nightmares because I don't have anyone to play with, and the only way I could experience those raids is to force myself to find people to play with and communicate with.
So in any case these are just a few reasons why I'm 50/50 on the matter and probably always will be.
I never did the hype thing. I prefer to wait until the release and see it for myself, then decide. Sometimes they do good things, sometimes they don’t.
Indifferent really, thess hype videos don't phase me anymore , and I didn't see anything in Final Shape that really jumped out at me
Loving season of the witch though, fun activities and great story beats
Hyped for Starfield & Cyberpunk DLC
Highly satisfied with Baldur's Gate 3
Sorry to see that with all the nostalgia talk from Bungie, they didn't bring back Dinklebot and the real Ikora.
Destiny is going out with a wimper, not a bang.
Annoyed me when Nolan North claimed to have "chosen me" when it was Peter Dinklage that did so not Nolan's weak behind.
Im getting Final Shape and then will probably be done. Lightfall and this years seasons solidified it for me. Doesn't have that spark or reason to log in anymore. Think it might be live sevice fatigue.
Hyped for Necrochasm.
Disappointed with no new subclass.
And realistically, just ready for the saga conclusion. I really don't even care what happens after Final Shape.
