It’s been twice in a week that I have been called the n-word, Hard R, in LFG teams and quite frankly I don’t get it. You would think that Bungie would crack down on something like this really fast even after the entire raid team reported them on both occasions, but it just feels like it’s a never ending cycle. I might just be getting bad apples in the community but it’s seriously put a terrible taste in my mouth for what I am to expect from LFG raiding.

Bearbeitet von Spawn: 8/12/2023 9:52:24 PMThanks for the report, sorry to hear that's happening. Harassment is something that Bungie and by extension their Partners doesn't tolerate on their Services and games. Just a few things for clarification here : There is a super helpful guide on reporting players in Destiny and what you can do to make sure it gets into the right hands (Specifically under "Report other player Behavior".. There are 5 different ways to report either individual players or groups of players (Clans) as per the guide. However, a couple key points : - If the communication was done in game text chat, follow the guide as that goes directly to the platform that the offender was on at the time. - if the communication was done on in game voice chat, the same applies, you can use the platform reporting (linked in the guide). - If the communication was done on another service outside of the game itself (Discord, Platform Party Chat, others etc), you would want to make sure to report using those services directly. Outside of waiting on reports to their respective teams, you can also using platform and Bungie's "Block" button to prevent further communication with another player.

The lfg experience through bungies website is degenerates 80% of the time. The other 20% are carry services advertising.
-
I’m sorry you experienced that type of disgusting behavior man. There’s no place for it anywhere and anymore. I hope they get banned.
-
1 AntwortenThat's awful, there's no justification like some people below want you think. Those people are ones that will play you out of pocket and laugh like a joke. It's unacceptable, I feel your pain.
-
8 AntwortenI’m a little shocked at the responses here, do better people jeez
-
Bumped - sorry you experienced this. We need this to be a better place. If you ever want to do anything or need a teammate, please reach out!

Don't condone the speech. But its just some idiots talking. You're in control of who you interact with. And if you don't like the people around you then just leave and move on. Someone throwing an insult over the internet isn't the end of the world. Ignore it, report it, move on.
-
6 AntwortenI gotta be honest, I laugh when people on the interwebs get so bent outa shape they have to revert to name calling and insults. You can call me whatever you like, I couldn't care less. Y'all nameless unidentified weirdos on a forum or in a game. At the end of the day you actually mean nothing, so why should I get bent outa shape over whatever anyone says? Guess you need thinker skin, or maybe to grow up.
-
1 AntwortenSticks and stones. Words only hold meaning over you if you allow it. So don’t, otherwise they’ve won regardless if they get banned a month from now or a year from now.
-
Honestly I just laugh when they say it. They are nothing internet tough guys that take advantage of the safety of their mom’s basement. Plus if you grew up throughout call of duty era you’d know hearing it hear and there in Destiny doesn’t compare to how bad it was in those games.

Bearbeitet von Twin Inferno: 8/12/2023 8:33:37 PMYou know what I’ve learned? That I don’t give a flying -blam!- what ppl say to me, because it’s just words, man. They’re trying to get to you. The more you’re affected the more you’ll hear it. You need thicker skin (that was not racially based)
-
Dude, everyone gets called offensive names, have slurs thrown at them and are constantly insulted in new and creative or old and uninspired ways. Its the internet if youre only now realising this then clearly youre new to this, it happens to everyone constantly. Dont let it get to you cuz everyones in the same boat. Everyone has been insulted and everyone has done the insulting. People neing offensive online is as old as being able to comunicate online. If theres a way to do it people will. I like many others have heard the same stuff as you, heard worse and heard less offensive but still insulting things. Its part of life if you play games online. Just get over it and move on, nothing is gonna change it except policing peoples speach whic goes against the human right to freedom of speach.

A lot of people downvote like what

Bearbeitet von theninjaboom: 8/12/2023 10:25:40 PMIt was uncalled for in the old school COD lobbies and still is now. I was there.

5 AntwortenThink a couple mean names is the end of the world? Wonder what you would have thought about the Halo 2 lobbies back in the day.

I've been LFGing for raids for years and I've done a lot of them. I've heard so many racial slurs that I've become entirely numb to them. Doesn't excuse the behavior, but when you play a game with a bunch of largely unmonitored teenagers testing their newfound freedom, mixed with lack of any real consequences, this is what happens. Happened in Halo 15-20 years ago and it happens now. Would be nice to get it cleaned up, but I don't foresee that happening.

Sounds like my kinda guys.

It is beyond disgusting for people to talk they way they do. Issue is its incredibly difficult to "record" or prove these kind of actions through 'voice' without a crackdown system that Bungie would need to record these conversation. I don't know if Bungie has that technology in game. Hell lets be real, there is no in game moderation team that actively cracks down on standard disgusting conversations and 'carry services' on the lfg.

You are in control of how you feel , nobody else. You are not your body, you live in a body.
-
Bearbeitet von Chucky: 8/12/2023 8:18:29 PMReport them to the platform provider is your best chance and use evidence if possible
-
Are you reporting these people to both Bungie and the platform you're on? Sony, Microsoft, Steam?
-
2 AntwortenI don't agree with racism atall its a shallow way of viewing other humans for a starter but sorry to ask but how did both teams find out your ethnicity/background did you tell them if so i suggest keeping more things private in lfg or did they just guess from your profile ? Hopefully bungie will do something about it either way plus racism is not something you see complained about in the forums as much as other things so seems rare to happen so hopefully doesnt happen again in lfg and hopefully you don't match with the -blam!- again in future
-
Welcome to the internet You got trolls and -blam!- I heard a lot worse in CoD lobbies and in valorant. It’s sad but don’t let internet losers ruin your day
-
I think people don’t know what the term racism means now a days. I guess times have changed. Also the word shouldn’t offended you if it doesn’t pertain to you. Meaning it’s a word that died. It’s the most promoted word now a days so I don’t understand how it’s offensive. Not that I support bullying but it’s just trash talking, which if someone does to me I just do it back. Though, I have never had that issue.
-
Yes it’s not good. But I could careless not gonna let some dummy ruin my day over a slur
-
1 AntwortenI once witnessed a big racism where these two guys in a Destiny 2 Xbox party were saying "I hate Mexicans, we should kill them all" and kept talking about it politically As a border-jumper, I am seriously offended
