Weapon balance has been lacking ever since the 30th anniversary. There are other factors like abilities, the introduction of 3.0, slow paced updates, poor communication from Devs, and lack of PvP content. However, we have spent nearly 2 years playing PvP in this terrible state where certain weapons perform well outside their archetype. It has completely burned me and many others. Friends list is dead, my clan is dead, andStreamers are leaving in droves.
We just had an target lock nerf but nothing truly changes. Is Merc and the weapons team going to bring us some tangible results?
BTW, this forum is a cesspool compared to reddit

I'm hoping the range changes will alleviate some of this. SMGs used to be aggressive push weapons. Now, they have so much range that they are backpedaling, shield humping weapons
-
1 AntwortenSmg meta? Where all i see is people crutching pulses in the back by their teammates. And the only smg I'm seeing is immortal
-
3 AntwortenBetter than the hc meta that we’ve been stuck for approximately 48000 years.
-
Bungie just loves compressing the skill gap
-
Nah.. just camp at the back of the map with LeMon.
-
6 AntwortenIll still gladly take an smg meta over a hand cannon meta any day. Heck even now hand cannons are fairly meta so honestly the balance of the game is not as bad as a lot of you perceive it to be.
-
Smgs are all over pvp ….the range is silly ! It’s mostly smgs , side arms , autos and fusions . Still a hood range of weapons being used additionally. Le Mon is still the biggest clown weapon in pvp though 😂
-
10 AntwortenIt's simple if a weapon is strong/broken on controller then according to Bungie its not broken. Guns can only be broken if they are good on mnk.
-
We all know these posts are just pure salt because there handcannons have competition

21 AntwortenPvp is not the reason people are dropping the game, especially now of all seasons. Pvp has been going way downhill ever since the launch of witch queen as you stated. The 30th anniversary update is where a lot of people last played the crucible for fun. The header for this thread inaccurately conveys what you’re saying here. Smgs have very little impact on the state of pvp, even target lock ones. As an example, Last word wasn’t ruining crucible in the past even if it was annoying, other factors can really make a pvp sandbox shine.

Long range meta in crucible is miserable
-
No. Immortal adept god roll is miserable.

1 AntwortenHard disagree. HC/shotty meta and any pulse/scout meta is way worse.

31 AntwortenBearbeitet von michael: 7/20/2023 2:47:58 AMNgl between this meta and hand cannon meta i prefer this, this is coming from someone with like 120k hand cannon kills in pvp who has mained them religiously since i started playing, i know hand cannons are the most skill rewarding guns and therefore are very satisfying and fun to use for those who are good with them but im tired of playing the same old game. Ive been playing mnk hc for so long that its not fun anymore, and theyve been nerfed so many times that they barely are holding on to their place in the meta and using them at a high level these days is just a hard cope. The sidearm/smg and sniper meta is fun when you just accept it and run with it. It has a immensely lower skillgap than the fast paced hc shotty meta so youd think more people would like it. HC shotty has been clunky and awkward since the removal of 150s and the quickdraw glitch, further exacerbated by the AE changes, so even if it became meta again it would be a shadow of its former self. Id rather just move on idc that much And if you think theres a third option between HC meta and smg/sidearm you are just wrong except maybe i could see pulses becoming meta if some absurdly poorly thought out patch was made. Auto rifles have too much ease of use so bungie has always been afraid to make them good, and there is no world where scouts are even half decent solely because of map sizes.

Bearbeitet von NotCreative123: 7/20/2023 3:14:17 PMSMGs are getting nerfed with the rangefinder change next season. They won't be as dominant at longer ranges, so HCs and Autos will win more often against them. This comes at a cost, though: Shotguns and Fusions will be more dominant by comparison, and they will probably rule the meta. Also, Autos will probably be a top choice due to their range, ease of use, and fast TTKs. Personally, I think the current meta is dominated by PEACEKEEPER + SMG, not SMGs themselves

1 AntwortenAll other weapons are better than SMG. Except for sweaty flawless players who also use shotguns since they have 100 mobility, i tried it, it works well. :)
cesspool compared to reddit
first time here? this place, since D1, has existed for the sole purpose of gathering together the saltiest, most irrational, frankly petulant .01% of the playerbase. it keeps us out of the more respectable forums on the 'net.
BTW, this forum is a cesspool compared to reddit
Yet, here you are.

Yeah, the Immortal will still burn you up. What Bungie should do is give us on the fly full access to all of our weapons. That would instantly bring more variety to the Crucible.

14 AntwortenBearbeitet von THE GRIND IS REAL: 7/20/2023 9:58:56 AMYes immortal is still bust but they will leave it that way so players have a carrot to chase till next op trials weapon drops, the messager with desperado was similar never got balanced just removed 🤣 🤣 I expect same with immortal

2 AntwortenPVP is dead atm. I stopped playing 6v6 a long time ago , bar the first IB of every season. Comp and trials I only play if a friend shoots an invite or I might go in solo if I’m bored.

Pulse rifle meta is the most annoying in my opinion. At least with smg it requires you to move around and engage in gunplay. Pulse rifles, hell you can just camp back of the map and camp.
