Edit because people keep missing this: I was active by doing more than just pressing E. I used menus which I navigate with F1 etc since I can on PC. I was clicking through those menus claiming triumphs and looking a various triumph/bounty requirements. I also used the director, map, and inventory functions. Also, please remember that this is on the feedback section of these forums. This is what this section is designed for. I’m giving feedback, I’m not wanting arguments for or against what I’ve posted, I just want bungie to see this and take it into consideration with however many other posts talk about something like this.
Original post:
I was sitting there on Nessus fishing and the game decides to kick me for being afk. I was actively fishing, had checked my inventory, and my quest tabs multiple times and I was still kicked for being “inactive”. Why has a mini game been added into the game if one of the most basic “kick parameters” can be met despite regular inputs? Everything on the ground just disappears as well. It’s not in my postmaster despite ample space so there’s a significant oversight there as well.
Im trying to catch my last required exotic fish to properly start that quest and this is when I am kicked. This is beyond disappointing and unfortunately hints toward laziness or apathy in the final testing and deployment.
For a game that has been fully live for nigh on 9 years, mistakes this basic is ridiculous. Please make sure things like this are checked properly, and that they are tested properly. Small features need to checked and tested just as much as other parts of seasonal content.

2 AntwortenI wouldn't call leaving your fish laying on the floor "active fishing"
-
1 AntwortenThis also happened to me. Just move around on the dock a little and when you have enough fish laying around go grab them. Pushing X doesn’t constitute moving around and that’s why you get kicked.
-
1 AntwortenMaybe collect your fish then? Because it's literally that simple?
-
The fish did not go down without a fight

Bearbeitet von PURExRAGE23: 7/9/2023 10:01:13 PMFor all the weirdos in here acting like typical d2 forum warriors what im getting from this is that fishing, screwing with inventory/menus and/or pressing any input should have counted as being active from the beginning which im pretty sure from everyone would be a resounding yes it “should” have but bungo did bungo things

11 Antworten
Everything on the ground just disappears as well.
Why was there stuff on the ground if you were actively fishing?
-
Collect them fishies. Scrolling the inventory and triumph tabs is not considered being active ingame, you have to actually move.
-
You need to collect the fish once in a while, quit AFK.
ACTIVELY fishing
meme of the season

1 AntwortenSkill issue

-
Got booted to orbit a couple times while doing material exchanges at the Spider so I could dump more fractaline. It only checks for if you're moving, which is stupid.
-
Gotta move around every so often, just a few steps is enough
-
I used to drink, a bunch, while fishing. Loss of time was common during a blackout. Don't try that at home.

25 AntwortenPick up your fish as you go and it’s a non issue. Not one of the streamers who made those fishing videos have put out a video telling players there’s a chance you’ll get booted to orbit. It’s a bad way to fish. There’s at least one post on the forums every day from a player leaving fish on the ground and having issues. I pick them up as I go and haven’t had one issue with fishing.

This old tortoise fell asleep while fishing once…no kidding! When he awoke, some time later…he was all alone, in the same spot as before?!😴😂 cue <twilight zone music> 😵💫

11 AntwortenAny post I see about this I laugh, there is zero reason to get kicked for being inactive when you’re fishing. This is solely on you. Lmao if you’re fishing you should not be waiting ten minutes to collect fish that’s asinine 😂 all it takes is what 3 separate button presses every five minutes and you won’t get kicked? This is almost akin to the people who don’t clear their post after every few activities so they don’t lose their extra resources. They then whine and complain in the forums when there’s a super easy solution.

2 AntwortenPushing square should count as not being idle, but it doesn’t. It got me once because I had no legendary fish for 10 minutes. So I pick up at 10 bait used so I don’t lose track of time. It’s fishing your supposed to lose track of time lol
-
6 AntwortenYou have to move around you can't sit still hitting square for more than 5 minutes without moving.
-
Just go in with someone who already fished so you don't have to waste time. That's what I did 🤣

Bearbeitet von Kouz_MC: 7/8/2023 6:58:49 PMOh come on, Bungie added this new feature to enhance action to ensure you have more “fun” going back fishing!

1 AntwortenWas there anyone else there? It might not be Bungie... Did it happen at full meter too? It's happened to me once, also on Nessus... what I suspected to be bad actors. It was glitched instance... sometimes the world timer bugs out and no PEs will spawn sometimes for hrs. So. a glitched instance... and instances can only hold so many players, the one I was in was full. I was actively fishing too... then I was kicked. The rest of the players, I suspect were together. I think they all reported me for inactivity, because I was moving and picking up fish as I got booted to orbit. The other clue was, right before that... they all started spamming nades and supers... to convince me to leave. I'm not 100% sure... but I think that's what happened to me. I made a feedback post about it when it happened. That's how petty and selfish people are in this game. Often, the worst part of this game, is its community of maladjusted players.

11 AntwortenYou have to pick up the fish. Don't let so many build up.
