I have convinced a couple friends to start playing d2 with me. I first started playing the game years ago, and I am no longer familiar with the new light tutorial. Additionally, without seeing the quests my friends receive, it is incredibly difficult to know what activity to launch.
My question is this: Which quests do I need to help my friends complete in order to complete the tutorial content, unlock their subclasses, and get access to the main playable content of the game? Also, what is the fastest way to complete these quests?
I understand d2 is not very friendly to new players, and some veteran players would suggest I abstain from introducing it to my friends. Please refrain from making such comments as they will not be helpful.

Don't.. until they fix it. Go play Warframe.

It’s your choice but I’d maybe make a new light account and play with them on that for the first couple of hours. It solves the problem of knowing what they should do etc and also gives you an idea of the limitations they’ll have in terms of glimmer, legendary shards, materials etc.

I don’t know about your questions, however here is one suggestion. Try and show them builds- maybe google/ YouTube that show the different classes/ and subclass. Show them how each class plays. They are all real fun in their own way. Also each have good builds. Then I would suggest they pick a main and stick to that. That way they only have to grind for one character. Unlock Stasis and Strand for one character as well. All resources for leveling up armor and weapons will then go to that single guardian. In the long run it might make them happier, compared with needing to do everything three times.

They'll have to do the dog poo New Light Quest, after that I'd start them on the seasonal stuff. Avoid the big DLCs until they're sure they want to keep playing. And be ready to answer a lot of questions about who everyone is and why they should care.
