I’ve always had this vision of destiny in my head. I don’t think I’m alone when I say this. Back when destiny was first announced, we had this dream, this vision of the game. Then the game released, and it was a lot different than most had expected. But the vision remained. Even though things weren’t great, they could be. Maybe we all had a different vision, but I bet many were similar. Its only now, almost 10 years into destiny, the games original planned lifespan, 1 DLC from the end, I realise that vision, that potential, will never be realised. The original destiny was split into multiple DLC to milk the community. And they have done it again with Lightfall and the final shape. In the original podcast luke smith stated lightfall will bring everything together. Even the artwork looked way different, definitely final chapter worthy artwork. Then the final shape was announced. At first I honestly was happy, who doesn’t want more content. But of course, the catch. Bungie need a catch. Turns out lightfall was just split to make more money, the milk the community dry. Strand was clearly supposed to come with witchqeen. They added deep sight to cover there tracks. This has been datamind. I have a strong feeling the final shape will be the end of destiny. Bungies heart is so clearly out of the mix, and has been for years. Pvp, strikes etc are perfect examples. No updates in YEARS. No new maps. One coming. One new strike. And battlegrounds added… What happened to strike specific armour that everyone loved? Themed like the strike boss? Strike scoring with medals? Updating strikes like rise of Iron and taken king with new enemies? All this was praised. No vender refresh for ages. Reskined gear left, right and centre of every new release/ season too. Full priced half baked DLC with less content every time. payed seasons just to know what’s happening in the past passed content, payed campaign skips, payed dungeon keys. A never ending list of bugs. This game is so far from the original vision and potential I thought it had it’s actually scary. It’s went backwards. There is nothing else to say than…..what a shame.
