The whole US and Ukrainian money ‘donation’ is really mind boggling to me. Why are we putting our foot into another country when we can’t even solve our own major issues. (Ie homlessness, jobs and etc)
Too me, this is kinda feeling like a weird Vietnam situation. Obviously I don’t want anyone to die wether they may be Russian or Ukrainian. But holy moly, this is kinda getting a tad bit annoying, but let’s also not forget the audacity from Zelenskyy to ask for more money is really laughable. Sure, to the average person 62.8 billion dollars isn’t enough for one person.
Tldr: me no like money donations to other people, when in fact we have other problems here that STILL haven’t been solved yet.

I’m glad this didn’t end up getting locked yet and sorry for coming late to the party. How much money are we actually giving, and how much equipment are we giving that we’re assigning arbitrary values to? Of that equipment, how much of it is approaching end of life cycles that we were going to replace anyways? What is the % of our donations to our GDP? Were we attempting to solve any of the problems you listed before Russia invaded Ukraine? Also, most of the equipment we’re donating is built for a conflict with Russia in mind. There’s some value in actual combat tests. As to why we’re involved, why did Ukraine give up the nuclear weapons it possessed in 1994? Finally, I don’t think it’s ridiculous for someone to ask for help if their life or freedom is dependent on help from others. I would do the same thing in his shoes. Would you? Looking forward to the discussion if you feel like it.

1 AntwortenIf you knew this was going to be locked, why did you post this?

1 AntwortenThough this will be locked - You're not wrong. We do not have the money to give. The (should be) inmates have been running the asylum for far too long in our capitol.

1 AntwortenIf the USA existed in a vacuum you might have a point, but whatever happens over there is going to end up affecting us in some way. The US has decided it’s in their best interest to support Ukraine and rightly so, but let’s not pretend this is out of selflessness or that our internal problems would be solved from some isolationist strategy.
