I've been seeing a lot of...mixed things about the Lightfall campaign and I feel like I played an entirely different game. I reached the end of the main story and felt like I had been on a wild, incredible, emotional adventure. It's been a while since I've felt that way in this game and I've played since Warmind.
I guess what I want to convey is that I think the Lightfall campaign, Neomuna, Strand, Guardian Ranks and Commendations...all of this comes together to create one of the best Destiny experiences I've ever had. If anyone from any team at Bungie reads this...please know that it's not all skepticism out here from us players. I love this expansion so far and I cannot wait to see what comes next!

EDIT: I’ve made the mistake of confusing forums for anything other than a place for bitter people to scream and demand everything be catered to their specific preferences. Why wouldn’t they? That’s what everything else in world has become; a platform for millions of little piggies to project their personal anxieties through any number of cultural lenses.
I’m sorry so many people are either genuinely disappointed or feel the need to parrot what they hear their favorite influencer saying. I hope y’all find something that makes you happy lol.

2 AntwortenI had fun. I’m still having fun, even after the campaign. In my opinion, I do feel the story was a bit rushed. I wish Calus was present more, rather than just being a pawn through 1/3 of the story. It would have been nice to unlock strand from the start, and then progress through the story by mastering new fragments. Now, I enjoyed the story for what it was. A lot of people are complaining about Nimbus. He didn’t bother me too much. Maybe at times there was a little bit too much comedic relief, but I personally do not feel he was that bad. I don’t like how they killed Rohan off and went with the cliché “rookie loses their master and must learn on their own”. It’s been over played in so many types of media. I personally think the story should have been a bit longer, so we could focus more in depth of the cloudstriders, as well as tackling the main threat. In my opinion, it’s way to popular to hate on Bungie and anything they do. If this campaign was made “perfect” like everyone wants, they would all still complain because “Bungie bad”. I thought it was fun, I had a lot of fun except for you final boss fight of Headlong) and actually had a lot of fun in Tempe final fight with Calus on legendary. I love the Tormentors. I think these types of enemies represent a good level of difficulty to the game, rather than champions. All in all, I kind of expected this to be somewhat of a filler expansion, as we pretty much knew we would lose and it would set us up for The Final Shape. As much as I hate cliffhangers, we have to wait throughout the year for answers. Im looking forward to what’s to come and I’ll keep enjoying Lightfall.

1 AntwortenWhat people forget is that everyone has their own version of what they think is fun. I also really enjoyed it, but many people will hate on you for simply enjoying anything bungie puts out. Of course it could have been better, but I think it’s fun. Story was definitely a bit of a mess but the overall experience was fun. People think that if it’s not fun for them, it has to be boring for others as well. It’s sad that these forums try and put people down for having a different opinion lol

1 AntwortenIm glad you liked it. Personally I thought it was a bit below average, but I dont really care at all about the narrative of destiny any more so I think a lot of the story issue that were a slap in the face to most people didnt faze me quite as much because I just dont care that much. To try to shed some light on why a lot of people are hating on it, here were a few of the common pain points I've seen floating around: confusing and lackluster plot, cringe dialogue, Strand being a bit underwhelming, a lot of misleading info from Bungies end, being very pricey for what it was At least those are the most common critiques I've seen.

2 AntwortenDid your version of the game explain what The Veil is?

8 AntwortenLmao the bungie defense force is now out in full delusional mode. This is hilarious.

1 AntwortenThe actual gameplay of the campaign was 9/10 in my opinion. Now the story behind the campaign gets throttled to a 5/10 three main reasons : 1- I'm bored of calus most of us that have been here on and off from the start are bored of calus was it a good fight? Yes did I give a single F how calus thought or felt? Nope. 2- At no point do we get an actual discussion explaining the veil to us despite being surrounded by NPC's that seem to know every detail behind it. I don't have a damn clue what it is man just tell me already you been hinting at it since 2014 3- being a "set up" story, essentially only here to set up the final shape it was always gonna be mildly lacking but it's still a bummer that it is

At least from a gameplay perspective my only real beef with the campaign was being given strand here and there but not being given any additional tools for it like the other fragments and whatnot. So it just kinda felt bad to use in those missions. It’s fun af once you actually get everything for it though.

1 AntwortenHow you got that excited by that lacklustre, luke warm strand tutorial of a campaign is beyond me. I am easily pleased and I thought it was boring and a complete mess.

1 AntwortenCommendations make no sense to me in the current state.

I'd say it definitely wasn't the worst campaign. Gameplay wise, it was good. New mechanics are okay, and strand is pretty decent once you figure out how to build into it. I think the problem is mainly in the story. Mostly, because it felt like a seasonal story, not an expansion story. Mostly, it felt really weird that the main antagonist to everything we hold sacred shows up at our home planet, wrecks our defensive fleet and then proceeds to stare at the Traveler while we completely ignore them and go to Neptune. The story ties add up, and it works, but this narrative has been leading to this moment, but we don't really do anything with it. I honestly think, if Neomuna was already introduced, and we had focused more on what's happening on earth, this would have made a great season for the season after. Have Lightfall be the beginning of the end, and Neomuna be our next steps to begin to fight back.

Story was off but action and engagement was on point. Constant thrill mad .e not care about the story which I guess was what they were going for but backfired hard.I had fun but can't say the same for others.

I had fun throughout the campaign. I dont like what they did with the Veil. Still, dont get what the hell it is or what it does. Other that, I like what they did.
