I'm talking about pve mainly
TLDR at the bottom
I took chaos reach into a gm the other day and used it on a yellow bar enemy only to see that the entire super couldn't even take down it's shield. That's just pretty ridiculous imo.
I mean it gets to the point where you constantly get flamed by most people for using any warlock super that's not well at this point. Because everyone knows our supers do no damage. (Mainly tickle fingers storm trance, chaos reach for good damage, and nova warp.)
I mean if some of the nerfs were reverted like the super canceling nerf the damage would probably be justified but as it is now I feel like the entire circus industry everytime I put it on and try to make it work.
Also idk if it's just me but I really miss the old look of chaos reach and wish we could toggle the brightness or look of our abilities. While it was harder to see what you were hitting it looked cooler to use which was more fun imo. I mean I know for some people it was far harder to see the target you were hitting but I didn't think the damage would get nerfed along with the aesthetician appeal.
Now for potential fixes. While yes I know balancing can be hard sometimes it really is about time some of these low damaging supers got reworked. But since this is mainly about chaos reach I feel like just simply increasing its damage would be a good fix.
If increasing damage is off of the table then I feel like the more fun option would be to revert the super canceling chances so that we can use a bit of our super here and there and actually keep most of our energy since warlocks are suppose to be the space magic class anyway.
Or allow it to receive a buff of some kind While amplified (I don't want to call the super weak without at least trying to offer a potential fix).
TLDR:
Buff chaos reach so it can actually contribute something to harder content and so my teammates can stop asking me why I thought it was a good idea to bring a weak super into hard content to pressure wash the enemies. It's weak and needs a buff. Also geomags probably needs a rework.

1 AntwortenI must be the only person out there that actually likes using Chaos Reach and thinks it’s ok lol it does need Geomags though but then Thundercrash needs Cuirass. Would be nice if Geomags made Chaos Reach jolt though I think.

3 AntwortenYou must be pretty bad at aiming then. Since chaos reach melts everything in GM'S.

Give geomags their top off perk back, but only in pve.
-
Wait what’s actually different about it

To be fair, if you're using chaos reach against any other shield that isn't arc, of course you'll be doing -blam!- all to the shield. Matchgame + underleveled = tickle reach. I remember seeing someone else say allow chaos reach to jolt either at base, with geomag, or while amplified. Any of these options would be great....but a flat damage increase would be appreciated as well.

Easy fix we fire Chaos Reach from both hands and spin in circles to be a Beyblade of death Blinding or Jolting all who come in contact, Ionic Traces increase the Jolt or Blind Radius and Amplified just makes us spin faster. Geomag stay the same. Stormtrance, ionic traces causes a lightning strike to be casted down on us damage foes within the vicinity while increasing damage, Amplified gives ionic blink the same ability as the new warlock melee. Make amplified actually work on Stormtrance
I jokes, I jokes
I'd prefer chaos turned into an instant cast to match falling star, and geomags bump up the damage a touch to compensate. Also, fully revert the nerf to geomags in pve. That's really all that needs to happen. Arc lock has roaming aoe super we don't need jolt or anything on chaos, let it be the single target burst option.

We’ve been there, done that. At this point, they want you to throw money at Spiderman. Hahahahahahaha! There is nothing here but controlled meta so you can throw money at an empty game. Hahahahahahaha! Welcome to hollowness!

I want it and other supers buffed and sadly so far while Bungie did buff roaming supers they have no plans on Chaos or Tcrash. Despite both of the bases on both supers being fully useless and Chaos still being useless with it's exotic (Reminder that I'm only talking pve here) Bungie have said they don't plan on buffing either because they think they're fine atm.

Bearbeitet von The Hermit IX: 2/25/2023 3:45:43 PMI used it day 1 and my clan mates made fun of me lol. When I got the Geomags I used it all the time. First time I ran something difficult with a fireteam they begged me to switch to something else. I started melting everything and they went quite. Boss was dead before he got a chance to do anything. It took a couple of years before it became a fad in PVP. Unfortunately it will never be that again. Simply the most broken Warlock super/exotic combo in D2.
