I hear many people talk about how much aim assist they have and how easy they are to use yet I have been trying to get better with them for over 2 years now and haven’t seen much improvement. The only thing that has happened is the destruction of my k/d ratio but I don’t mind that. Something about getting 3 headshots with this particularly weapon archetype just seems to evade me. I’ll often get 2 headshots but then get a body shot for the 3rd. I’ve tried peak shooting, pacing my shots, spamming my shots. Nothing seems to work.
I tend to do well things such as pulse rifles, scouts, and even 180 Handcannons (despite any people calling them terrible Handcannons). I would simply stick with those weapons but I don’t really like those weapons aesthetically and I often use things based on their aesthetics.
For context I play on PS4 at around 11 sensitivity (although I have gone down to 6 before to try and practice landing shots but to no avail)
Edit: Thanks for all help and advice I really appreciate it. I moved over to playing on my new gaming laptop and things seem to be much better. I’m still not great however I am definitely land shots way more now.

4 AntwortenHonestly, if you are on a ps4 that’s already a disadvantage because next gens are running PvP at 120 fps. A new rig (ps5 or series x) and a comparable low response time gaming tv is your best bet. Also, pick one hand cannon that you are good with and use it in pve and PvP. A lot.

1 AntwortenOn controller, their upside is more muted than on PC for a few reasons others have listed here: - Controller movement is slower, meaning peeks need to be longer, lowering that upside - Controller has bigger accuracy cones and more recoil be default. Means a net loss of magnetism and harder follow up shots. - FoV (old gen) makes recoil worse. - Old gen being locked to 30 frames also doesn't help precise shots with a lower RPM weapon. They're easy to use to the boing of boredom on PC since their upsides are far, far easier to leverage, where console they're only really amazing if there aren't any alternatives.

No, HC takes alot of skill(crimson isnt a HC), more than I want to admit because it's fuel for all the "Dad Rifle,Bot Walking" talk, but there is alot you have to account for and inaccuracy is a death sentence

Bearbeitet von NotCreative123: 2/21/2023 10:45:20 PMOn console, Handcannons with high stability are the easiest to use. You can craft an Austringer or buy a Hawkmoon with high stability. Ideally, you want to use Rangefinder, Explosive Payload, Timed Payload or Opening Shot to improve your range. Everything else should be focused on improving your handling or stability. In my opinion, the hardest part of mastering HC is learning their effective range. Also, you don't have to use a HC to be a top player. Not every top player uses a HC

3 AntwortenBuy an adapter if you want to use a hc like the top percent, you carnt miss anything within 40 metres does it all for ya 😉 watched a vid on yt they look really good

Try using one with more stability.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Infamous067: 2/21/2023 1:39:31 PMIt comes down to which 140 you are using. If you use something like hawkmoon with max range then you really cant miss your shots, its just that easy. Crimson is also really easy to use especially on a controller and yes I know its not a 140 but its an alternative. Ace is actually terrible on a controller but god tier on a pc. It really does come down to which 140 you are using and on what input you are using.

Bearbeitet von Meaga: 2/21/2023 8:10:50 PMThey are the highest risk highest reward primaries in the game, and the AA stats are greater, but not that out of line with every other gun in the game. Bad players (more that half of this forum), complained about HCs because they’re too hard for them to see success with, yet they were strong in the hands of a good player. They just require aim, practice without targeting mods, play a bunch of rumbles, and you’ll eventually get it. Avoid perks that make the game easier for the HC, moving target and damage boosters are two examples. You want to be punished for missing, you’ll get it G. Stick to 140s, they’re the best for learning all HC types.

1 AntwortenI recommend palindrome if you have it, exalted truth (trials 140), ace of spades, or fate bringer. They are the ones I have and enjoy. Hawkmoon is amazing too. Haven't put time in with eyasluna or austringer.

I'm also on controller at 11 sensitivity. Personally, I find high sensitivity like ours to be tough to control well when ADS. To compensate I tend to be a 'left stick aimer' which helps somewhat.

2 AntwortenMost of the things that make hand cannons so good are worse on console (controller specifically but especially old-gen console), which is why they've pretty much always been so much more dominant on pc than console. (I'm not trying to start an input method war here, both have advantages and disadvantages, I'm just laying out why hand cannons are so much more widely used on pc) -Aim assist: hand cannons just have a smaller aim assist cone on controller compared to mnk. The low framerate of an old-gen console will exacerbate this for you. -Aerial accuracy: even with the recent AE reversions, controller still gets a severe nerf to aim assist cone while in-air compared to mnk and is overall less accurate in general -Ease of use: lower and easier to manage recoil on mnk compared to controller. The lower fov of old-gen consoles will make the screen shake seem even worse for you. -Peek shooting: strafing on mnk will let you change directions faster because there's no delay between your left and right movement inputs whereas on controller while you move your stick you will have inputs that aren't full left or full right Overall just use whatever you're best with, I think hand cannons are fun and I use them a lot in quickplay but when I really need to win I'll use a pulse and/or smg.

This is a trap so many players get sucked into. Most ‘high end’ players or streamer use handcannons and they do have a lot of upside. However, that play style of weapon isn’t optimal for everyone. Pulses are the meta right now due to their low ttk but offer a different playstyle. Scouts can compete on certain maps and smgs are the meta option at close (and even mid) range. TL;DR: many weapons are good. Use what your best with as it might not be handcannons.

On a controller it's tough. I also can't make them work. Smgs and sidearms only, plus the last word when I just wanna have fun. Nothing else works for me.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Ryan Foxling: 2/21/2023 6:22:22 AMYou play on a controller or mnk? I'm mnk main, tried hand cannons on a controller yesterday and they felt terrible, at least for me, but smg's, sidearms and fusions are broken on a controller
