Even ability based pvp games have more gunplay
-
If you want to want to play a game where knowing the maps, having strategies, tactics, etc etc are actual meaningful factors, then playing a game where everyone is a Magic Wielding Wizard, and all the guns have Random RNG based stats ... might give you a bad time? I'm not even sure WHAT that game might be. ARMA? Possibly? Something that closely approximates a real-life war scenario? Driving games with ultra realistic physics models, with an actual force feedback steering wheels, and pedals? You still have Magic Guns, "more gunplay" won't cut it. You would need to give everyone the same guns and everyone the same stats in everything. Then maybe, MAYBE, you might prove something. And then you will still have someone from Ubekistan playing with someone inside the building where Bungie has the game servers, and the lag difference will still get you killed more 4 times out of 5.

2 AntwortenHonestly I think abilities should be nerfed across the board to be less frequent in both pve and pvp. I get that destiny is a “space magic” game, but gunplay is a huge part of the game as well. I mean correct me if I’m wrong but you get a gun before you get the chance to use an ability.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Zinjo 2017: 12/16/2022 9:37:29 PMI'd like to see "Gunsmith" Crucible, which simply disables Supers. So all players can only rely on their gun, grenades and melee abilities to succeed. We already have "Mayhem" which gives you accelerated supers, why not a "Gunsmith" mode for the opposite effect? It would really lend itself well as one of the modes in the competitive ladder (I'm sure the Rift haters would welcome it), or even Trials.
Even ability based pvp games have more gunplay
It’s a grenade fest every match I’m in so I agree with you.

Same problem applies to PVE. Essentially the problem with power creep. We have to chase the next ability meta.
-
2 AntwortenIdk why they don’t add an all guns noo ability game mode
-
Pvp needs to be better. Don’t know how they made it worse.
-
6 Antwortenit got so bad that even pve is just abilities now, ppls are doing GMs and raids with just grenades lmfao not a single weapon in this game is worth farming for as it is rn which is a huge problem

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Hawpy: 12/18/2022 4:49:16 AMAbilities are fine in most modes, but anything branded as competitive or high level needs to be barebones. No Exotics, no abilities other than double jump, standardised loadouts. I don't care if it's boring, it's much better than the outcome of a game boiling down to "which team has more of something than the other". If those loadouts were randomised every so often, then ever better - reward people for being able to adapt to a variety of setups, instead of picking the same Hand Cannon + Shotgun every time.

Agreed. You barely shoot your gun in this game anymore.

Errr..ummm... yeah. Less abilities would be nice, but map awareness, ability to read radar would go along way. I'll just leave this right here for ya. PvP has a lot of issues, but 50% of it has to do with players just not being that good at the game. I'm not great by any means, but I'm well aware of my limitations... but this crap right here is what Comp has become 😩 https://www.xbox.com/play/media/EDCRMF5UUJ

1 AntwortenBungie simply needs to add a mode that is anti-Mayhem, or atleast allow us to create custom lobbies (with custom rules) and then open it to public matchmaking. Overwatch 1 had this functionality back in 2017. Also the popular advice "go play COD" is just plain stupid. COD has garbage mobility & boring guns.

3 AntwortenNot too mention less (no) shotguns.

Bearbeitet von Soul_Eater_42: 12/17/2022 8:57:41 PMBest solution without ruining PvE in the process: Introduce a modifier into Crucible game modes that makes abilities very slowly, but regenerate faster with gun damage and kills.

2 AntwortenAbilities literally carry some people. They are utter sht without them
-
PVP should have a game mode with no abilities, I would play that all the time
-
PvP needs less abilities
Correction: PvP needs to not exist.

11 AntwortenBearbeitet von Talia Sendua: 12/17/2022 3:14:44 PMDude, are you literally insane? A player gets on average 1 super per match, maybe 2 with high enough intellect and kills/damage count. Grenades take half a minute for most to recharge (unless they run a build). Most melee attacks got OHK potential reverted (looking at us Titans). PvP IS literally 80% gunplay, 20% abilities. It just seems so much because the more players are on the field, the more abilities are up per minute in total. 6 players throwing a single grenade every minute are 6 grenades thrown per minute. 12 players throwing a single grenade every minute are 12 grenades thrown per minute. And as usual, if you want a gunplay-only game, go play: * Call of Duty * Battlefield * Counter Strike * Halo 1,2,3,5,Infinite (not counting Halo 4, since it has Ability slots) It is not Destiny 2s fault. It's yours for playing the wrong FPS games for your needs. Those are the big ones you want to play for gunplay, not Destiny 2.

What was it Bungie wanted? 60/40? 60% gun kills and 40% kills involving an ability in someway whatsoever? Bungie wrote about this a few twabs ago when they were talking about supers and abilities changes. That they want the majority of kills to be solely from a weapon. Idk it really matters. We are space wizards fighting aliens with magic powers and flying between planets in less than 2 minutes. Not sure realism needs to be the focus.

1 AntwortenYeah that was the plan 🤣 we've come full circle
-
10 AntwortenYou have 4 enemies on point b, you could use an ability such as a grenade to kill or distract them while you push.. oh you don’t want abilities so you’ll just sit back and try pick them off with your little hand cannon phew phew phew. People who want less abilities are just bad at the game

Abilities are the best part of Destiny. Destiny needs less PvP.

3 AntwortenNO. THE CRUCIBLE IS ALREADY A PRIMARY-WEAPON SLAPFIGHT COMPARED TO DESTINY 1 BECAUSE OF COOLDOWNS AND AMMO NERFS. BACK IN MY DAY YOU USED GO INTO THE CRUCIBLE AND YOU WOULD RIP OFF DICKS. AND EAT THEM IN FRONT OF YOUR VICTIMS. YOU WOULD RUN-AND-GUN WITH A “TWO TO THE MORGUE” SHOTGUN GLUED TO YOUR HANDS AND SPAM GRENADES AND JUMPKICK -blam!- EVERYTHING INTO A F***ING CRATER. WARLOCKS ROCKED MY -blam!- WITH THEIR SPACEHANDS SO MUCH I THOUGHT I WAS IN THE WORST MASSAGE PARLOR IN THE UNIVERSE. A HUNTER STABBED ME IN FOREHEAD AT LEAST FIVE TIMES A MATCH. AND IT WAS GLORIOUS. CRUCIBLE IS A WEAK SHADOW OF ITS FORMER BEAUTIFUL SELF AND I HATE IT. I HAVE TO PLAY MAYHEM OR ELSE I FALL ASLEEP AND DIE IN REAL LIFE.

Kinda the point of the game 🤷🏼♂️
