Solar 3.0 Warlock has been around for about 2 seasons now, and I think it could use some adjustment.
1. Prior to 3.0, the bottom subclass tree let you solar explosions for ability kills. It would be great to see a fragment that would make it so any enemies who died of scorch would ignite. This would give back the *kaboom* part of solar Warlocks I enjoyed. If the ignition was based on the scorch damage getting the "final blow" it wouldn't be too horrible in pvp, and it would be more controlled in pve. If not this, then at least let it be what it originally was "ability kills generate a solar explosion/ingition"
2. Phoenix Dive currently has the same cool down as a rift, but far less utility. Before 3.0, it was a ~5 second cool down for about the same effect: but more than healing, it was about mobility. PD could use a reduction in base cool down. Otherwise, increase or decrease the utility. If it is going to have a long cool down, let it have utility to compete with a rift. If it is going to have a much shorter cool down (preferable), and you're worried about the healing spam, reduce it from 2 to 1 cure.
3. Well of Radiance was the "support class", and one of the best ways that was shown got taken away. Before 3.0 the middle tree on solar Warlock had added bonus that when one of your abilities benefitted an ally, you got reduced cool down. This would be great to see as a Fragment - if you want Warlocks to be a good support class, reward the support. Otherwise it gets stuck in the pitfall of feeling like a chore and 2nd string to other players.
These are some of my thoughts on how to improve solar Warlocks: what are your thoughts on how solar 3.0 Warlocks could be improved?

Making it a fragment means every class can get scorch ignition on kills though.

I honesty didn't think that I would miss being able to charge a normal grenade into a healing one as much as I do. Not saying that I want take healing nades from solar hunter but damn Warlocks lost flexibility with that one.

11 AntwortenBruh warlocks as a whole need a buff. I feel so heavily nerfed playing warlock. As a main, I've never felt so useless in endgame across all 3 subclasses
-
5 AntwortenIdk it kinda feels like void 3.0 had the most time in the oven and the other two got what they could
-
4 AntwortenThe entirety of the warlock kit across all subclasses needs reworking. They clearly are too afraid of making warlocks anything nearing an actual space wizard for fear of it being too strong for PvP/overshadowing the other classes (hence the lack of identity, general blandness, and underpowered abilities), so they should honestly go more with the DND warlock type of aesthetic. I could totally see VW having a Hexblade style to it tbh. This also includes stasis. People love to Stan Shadebinder but it’s still the least used warlock subclass of them all and is beyond boring and less-than-mediocre at best even when compared to the light subclasses. Tbh all of stasis in general needs a massive rework.

4 AntwortenDid you ever think that maybe, bungie wants warlocks to be understand? Or that there other classes are op and warlocks are in the right position? Maybe it needs futher nerfes since well is mandatory in almost all encounters
-
I'd like to see them add a solar soul on rift cast that gives the caster an over shield while shooting healing to rest of fireteam.
-
Dawnblade, nova bomb, chaos reach all need reworking. Literally no point in using any of them, and at the rate bungie brings nerfs through it wouldn't surprise me if they all got nerfed again for no reason before they actually get buffed
-
2 AntwortenPoint 1- yes! Point 2- give us old phoenix dive back Point 3- our abilities while being able to run well have gotten a huge buff. I can see why they had to cut that. I think Solar warlock 3.0 is great, just give us back phoenix dive without healing or ground slam but no cooldown.

-
Yea they need a big adjustment cough cough nerf, melee with no dmg fall out and the aim assist on it oofff and plus that damn dash, I'm dying I'm dying let me dash away going 200 mph and the healing is stupid oh I'm dying rift or healing grenade.
-
Solar is by far the worst rework. I have only 2 viable builds to use and still have 1 for fun with Sunbracers.

We really need an aspect based on healing, which is supposed to be one of the main things solar warlocks do. Right now, we just have a bunch of what feels like conditional band-aid fixes in response to not having a dedicated healing aspect. Also, the daybreak super needs a pve buff. It struggles to kill most red bars right now, and you only get 6 swords that feel about as powerful as a packet of taco bell mild sauce.

Bearbeitet von Valen: 12/5/2022 3:09:26 PM1. Ember of Char - Fragment can do this along with a few others to help it. 2. I agree we should get a shorter cool down similar to titan thrusters compared to their barricade. 3. Ember of Benevolence - Does exactly what you're asking for. The only additional thoughts I have is to get Daybreak brought down in cool down and it's duration increased, no one is using it anymore.
-
3 AntwortenBenevolence already exists as a fragment It’s just garbage now It’s literally far more easily proc’d on titan with infinite bonk hammer or hunter with two separate and easy ways to grant radiance to allies. Nvm the healing nade they gave to everyone. Titans are literally better medics now

1 AntwortenAnother reason why AE ruined this game since that class focus too much on the sky control "IN A GAME WITH CRAZY AIM ASSIST" *Dawn blade needs a buff with increase duration and damage *Extra slot *Heat Rises should help on the ground as well in the sky with (Kills while airborne grant Melee Ability energy, depending on the Enemy Tier)
-
2 AntwortenPhoenix Dive was made to be an AoE heal instead of a selfish one in Solar 3.0. It also has extra Scorch interactions with Heat Rises, and from there it can combo with the Fragment that reduces Class Ability cooldowns from Scorching targets if you want better uptime. It also has enough Scorch to cause an Ignition when combined with most other Scorch sources It could probably have a little faster base cooldown, but I think anything under 30s at T10 Recov would be overkill

Bearbeitet von Kord: 12/5/2022 1:41:26 AM1. sounds cool, might be hard to balance, probably more of an aspect then a fragment. 2. would love to see something like a greatly reduced cooldown when you have the aspect that gives dash. So you can pair it with heat rises for greater healing and damage on longer cooldown or dash for faster cooldown or both but giving up amped up grenade. 3. already exists, the problem is it used to proc from any healing or the melee weapon damage buff, now it only procs from cure or restoration, so rifts and boots of the assembler no longer allow near 100% uptime on the ability regen, which was also nerfed. Would be nice to see more ways to keep it up longer without needing to build entirely for a melee spam build and to see it returned to its pre 3.0 regen rates, because as it is now not really any reason to use it.

Phoenix dive should be apart of the Icarus dash aspect..so you have the ability to use either or but when you use Phoenix dive upon landing it uses your rift ability whether it’s empowering or healing. That way you can use it repeatedly without benefits other than when you have the class ability charge. The input difference is in the custom controller menu. As for the ability to blow things up in bottom tree; I think the snap melee ability should do the same as Weighted Knife (Hunter) or Hammer Strike (Titan) where upon either scorch or death enemies ignite. The grenade aspect should have made the thermite grenade do three rows of fire (dead messenger) or gave the Incendiary grenade automatic ignite because of how strong it is already. The Middle tree for Solar is all in the fragment so you can use whatever aspect BUT warlocks should have been given an aspect that amplifies all those positive abilities. For instance a fragment that made it to where you get even more grenade and melee energy when an ally is cured/restored/ or radiant from your abilities and hitting an ally with your melee can cure or restore their health and make you radiant when you do so or something along the lines of actually being able to benefit your allies no matter what ability use. But all in all I agree with your statement about Solar warlocks needing a tweak
