Would getting bright dust instead of a dupe without changing bright dust prices for items devalue silver? Debatable. You can't get things from the last three seasons with Eververse engrams, likely some of Bungie's most bought items. I've never gotten armor ornaments from engrams, (i.e. Celestial, Dragonfly Regalia, etc.) so that's likely not a possible drop. It's just hard to be excited about getting 3 legendary shards after five levels. I always hope for something new, even if it's something I delete immediately, but I'm never upset about a small bright dust bundle. BD bounties and seasonal challenges were added after they halved the amount you got from all BD sources and took away weekly bounties that gave much more BD. I did the math and it came out to be about break even, after they halved all sources, assuming you did everything. People who have all the BD they could wish for from previous years of play are unaffected by the halving. It's the people who go for all the bright dust they can get that are also more likely to buy things anyways. Repeatable BD bounties are 3000 glimmer ea. giving only 10 BD. To get 1000 BD you'd need to spend 300k glimmer, doesn't seem like the most feasible. Sorry for the wall, just a more thought out point.
