Okay, the paid event card...I get it. You can say 'don't like it, don't buy it'. Doesn't change the fact it's yet another form of gating content behind a paywall and, as a long term player, I'm really starting to resent the amount of times Bungie wants money from me.
The event itself....grindy, which isn't much fun but if we're being real it's not a suprise. What makes it just really bad though is that you can grind out the currencies and go to 'upgrade' your gear only to actually make it worse? Why? What sense is there in this other than literally forcing more grind out of players? I mean why would it even be worth spending time on this when it can turn out to be a complete waste of time? Does anyone at Bungie this is 'engaging'?
I've said it before, but there's never been a stronger case to argue that there's zero respect for player time and investment in this game. This is an all time low for the shooter/looter genre.

4 AntwortenRemember when they said the event shops are to make free content back in the day.... now we pay for dlc, seasons, dungeons, event cards and eververse is stronger then ever...

7 AntwortenAs a D1 Alpha Vet who has paid for every bit of content they drop. I have decided I am going to coast to the finish of final shape because I want to see the conclusion of this saga but I'm almost treating this as a 2 year retirement tour. If things don't change and fast I am out the door. I feel too invested now to walk away but I will no longer grind this game like I used to. I respect my time too much to do so anymore. I am over the monotonous content and hands asking for more money at every turn. MAJOR Changes must come and not just by dropping "new content" or "Destiny 3". MORE Destiny isn't what I want. I want BETTER.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Mark, Scholar of Stars: 7/22/2022 8:30:41 AMIt's not the end of the world, but it's not the Destiny (2) anymore which I admired and estimated. There's not much left of it... Everything is concentrated around Eververse and microtransactions. The game serves more and more as a sales platform. That's sad, especially from the perspective of before Beyond Light, but obvious. Why create new content - real content, when there's also a way to go around this development by designing something else which creates sales? Because, cosmetics are less expensive to design, and sell. The so called new content - most of it - is just recycled these days. It's not really something new. And that shows, where all of this is going - even with brandnew DLCs like The Witch Queen. From now on I will purchase á la carte. I can't imagine that the next Deluxe Edition will be different... I did not like the first, and also the current season of this DLC. I did not use the exotics or ornaments, I think I did not use any of those ornaments from the last 12 months or even longer going back. Seriously, I don't need this, I think the days where one could be glad to see another year of Destiny (2) are gone. Again, it's not the end of the world, it's just that Bungie is changing, and so have I. Not that I want this, but there's not really a choice anymore.

4 Antwortenthe card should be free for season pass owners, period

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von DuBChiri2: 7/22/2022 4:10:22 PMMy biggest issue with their trends of event content and the like is that there's so much content that would make an event actually WORTH doing...locked behind the eververse shop and NOW an event "pass." I understand that the event is free and funds have to be driven from somewhere, but it's times like solstice where it really hits home there's just an event to take your money and not to celebrate the investment of the players. Even the shaders and stupid little ghost projections that are DIRT CHEAP in the eververse shop that cost dust still requires me to walk to tess instead of just completing a challenge or triumph and I just find that unbelievably disappointing. This game tries to ring as much money out of you as ACTUAL free to play games which is just unreal. You just unlock a new seasonal exotic from a quest, here...visit the shop to buy a skin for it. Complete all the challenges for a season, here...go reward your completion by paying 30$ for a shirt with a logo on it. You get eververse engrams which give you stuff for free...but it still makes you look at the shop even if you don't want to and likely gives you stuff YEARS old or duplicates like ships. Solstice drop this new armor, here...go check out the shop for the EXACT same armor set but with the subclass armor variations locked behind it. There's SO little rewarding of the players ingame achievements that it's sad. "They give you dust at least," which is a true comment to make, but it STILL doesn't change that it detracts from the game itself. I remember playing gears of war 3 and there were characters, cosmetics and titles locked behind achievements that at times were both really hard but also rewarding for the investment. I play like 500 games of hoard earning money, I earn Griffin. I LOVE using primaries and slaying enemies, earn a golden variant locust for pvp, etc. These days, online games genuinely make me depressed on that front. Doesn't even matter if I have the money, there's just no sense of anything achievement worthy in this game. The hardest challenges just give you a stupid emblem and pat you on the back. Literally one of the most WORTHLESS cosmetics to exist in this game.

4 AntwortenThey get lazier and greedier every season, no more activision to put the blame on anymore

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von RationalSea4: 7/21/2022 1:49:41 AMIt’s only for cosmetics, not content
-
1 AntwortenThe only thing you really have to grind for is the re rolls of armor and weapon rolls. Other than that you can complete the event card just by playing casually
-
How many people complaining about a pay wall for cosmetic stuff, plays Fortnite and bought skins and other cosmetics for that game. Yes if you don't like the price then don't buy it.
-
Better than the piece by piece armor grinding. Y’all just can’t be satisfied. Don’t pay. It’s cosmetics.
-
3 AntwortenThe upgrade card is just cosmetics. Are you bothered about big bright colourful cosmetics on your screen which don't affect gameplay? Bungie are company they work to make money. Do you have a job? If so you'd know the idea is to make money right? Same principle applies. Destiny as always been grindy and sometimes it's not fun. You know what I do? Instead of crying I take the mature route and just won't do play it. Ground breaking information for you. No on forces you to do anything in destiny. If you feel forced to do something in a game. Them I think you need help. Seems like you've got an unhealthy addiction. Lastly, these are events are just fillers for the back end of the season. It's other players with limited time catch up on the actual season. You can freely do other things with your life.

Solstice was always this grindy And compared to previous years ....it's actually less grindy and isn't different step for every class making playing with friends a massive headache As for what I don't like about this event ..... The removal of the importance of daily subclass usage ,making EAZ way too casuals (the chest needed to be gone but the rest was fine )the boss only being this taken ogre instead of these different boss fight rip multiplying servitor
-
Sorry but i don't take anyone who complains about having to pay for cosmetics and emotes serious. Microtransactions (although shi**y) are not new to gaming and Bungie has yet to sell anything considered p2w.
-
2 AntwortenGating what content? It contains an ugly shader ghost sparrow & ghost projection. You serious? Lol
-
2 AntwortenI don't get you people. I can't remember the last time I paid Bungie money. I think it was Witch Queen and the Season Pass. In the past I would have to pay a monthly subscription a month, every month, for this much content whether I played or not. I MUCH prefer this model of paying upfront for optional content. There's even a F2P option if one is so inclined. $10 means nothing to me but I weighed the pros and cons of the event and decided, nah, I'm good. Not worth it. Why would this cause you "resentment". Yeah I mean shocker, Bungie is running a business and needs money from us. Video games don't grow on trees and they aren't powered by unicorn farts. We get it, the event sucks. But -blam!-....10 new whine threads an hour about how they dare to try and profitise their game is a bit much. Seriously kids, grow up or go away. Jesus....

Never thought I'd see the forum talking about how ghosts, ships, and transmat effects are more important than armor rerolling and guaranteed stat points.
-
How is giving us the ability to focus our stats not respecting our time? I'm having trouble making that connection.
-
1 AntwortenI mainly hate the paid card cause they locked a decent looking shader behind it.. why couldn’t they have made it a reward for doing all the challenges or something?

but... I do like the new Armor stat roll system. The old way to roll 'good' armor still involved a lot of chance. I am sooo sick of grinding and still not getting to where I really wanted to be with my armor. I didn't buy the extra Dungeons so... No Artifice Armor for me :( What is nice about the new system: You can equip a ghost shell Armorer mod and then, when you do the 3rd Armor rank up you can choose which stat gets a +20. The BIG difference is this: BOTH the +10 and +20 can be in the top three stats! I had hoped, when I heard they had 'extra' slots, that they were actually making Avarice Armor available to solo players. NOPE. But still, I like it for the stat rolling.

24 AntwortenBearbeitet von =SHASTA=: 7/20/2022 3:34:38 AMThey want your MONEY but they want to take away their twab and throw a pity party for themselves because of alleged CRIMINAL behavior of a few internet nut-jobs who CLAIM to play Destiny. No TWAB and 'we can't trust you anymore :(' but - $100 a year from each of you isn't enough for Bungie. I had my FACE put on blast by a trash gaming youtuber with 300k subs at the time, my channel was ROASTED I was threatened and had LOADS of abusive comments - downvote hell! .... Who cares? ... The fart sniffing pomps at Bungie read a twacked out dm from a weirdo and now it's my fault gtfo

1 AntwortenWell said. Totally agree. This is the real bungle - greedy, content sucks and the fun factor is so far removed from this game I can barely get myself to sign in every blue moon. Bungle is nothing but a wallet and guardian hour farm. This game has gone so far past rock bottom.

10 AntwortenThis event definitely is pretty grindy, but isnt every solstice event super grindy? I remember the the yr1 and yr2 solstice of heroes in particular being mega grindy, i get people dont like over the top grinding but isnt the very purpose of the solstice event about upgrading a set of armour? Also the event pass thingy is bullshit but its hardly a new thing for bungie when it comes to the monetization of cosmetics in destiny
-
I personally like the seasonal content, and buy it when I can, but buying an event card just makes no sense. Unlike a season, that lasts for three months, the event lasts for THREE WEEKS. You'd think that the price would be lowered at least, or maybe just offer a silver and bright dust price, but moneygrab bungie locked it behind a paywall. Again.
-
The event is pointless so why do it? I just ignore this event and it saves me the anguish

1 AntwortenNah, they can sink way lower than this.
