Have played since 2014. One of my favorite games/series of all time.
Ruined by microtransactions.
Things required to play all content:
Forsaken $19.99 (doesnt even include most of the content anymore)
Shadowkeep: $24.99
Beyond Light: $29.99
Bungie 30th anniversary pack: $24.99 (imagine charging for this LOL)
Witch Queen: $40.00
Dungeon Pass(LOL): 2000 silver (smart how you did this, makes sure it wont go on sale I see you Bungie)
SEASON PASS: $10.00 (every few months)
and now don't forget about their NEW EVENT PASS
I want to add that it is not the fact that I don't want my friends to play this game, I am just tired of them laughing at the cost of entry/vanishing content every time I finally convince one of them to get on the game.

16 Antworten
Why I will never reccomend destiny to any of my friends
1, The poor quality work since Activision left 2, Way overdone padded playtime 3, Outdated P2P 4, Outdated engine 5, Microtransactions 6, A chopped-up story that leaves you disconnected 7, Chopped-up content 8, Seasons that have you run the same boring process every single season 9, Resetting progress every season 10, A broken loot system 11, Overdone controlling how player play their game 12, Vender that have never been used as their intended purpose 13, 90% of the game is never updated only to be removed at some point to be replaced with something that has less of a sense of value. 14, Way too much junk loot that has flooded the game 15, Streamers dictating the direction of the game, etc... The list is literally freaking huge with issues in the game that a lot off it will never be fixed leaving the game in its broken state when their new IP is released. I rarely play, mainly because I know Bungie has the resources and has for 14 years, but they refuse to invest in this game. Why would I ever subject anyone to this, to support a business that treats their player base as a number/$$$ instead of a customer?

1 of my friends said he wouldn’t play because he wouldn’t even know what all he had to buy to get started. Imagine someone not playing your game because your paywall has complexity that it doesn’t need for a minor cash grab that actually serves to prevent said cash grab. Roll all past content into deluxe edition of current expansion and be done with the ridiculousness. You can’t even get people to reliably play old content and many posts from people who try in lfg find themselves short 3-4 people.

And to think hollow knight is 15 dollars. I just think it’s funny to compare any game to hollow knight, cause it’s such a good game for such a reasonable price.

D2 is an expensive game, especially when you piece it separately the way you did. At least list honest prices... The Legacy collection is currently on sale for $30, and the Witch Queen deluxe with everything you've mentioned except the event pass goes for $85-100, depending on sales. You can literally play everything Destiny currently offers for $115 with sales, and it comes with 3 campaigns. I'm not disagreeing with you that D2 is an expensive "subscription without a subscription" game, but don't twist the narrative to drive your point.

17 Antworten1. Then why do you continue to play? 2. This is not a FTP and never has been. Paying for NEW CONTENT (expansions) is a tradition in this kind of game. Because it funds the creation of new content. 3. Compared to other MMO-like/Live Service games, we are being UNDERCHARGED for the level of service we are being given. Other games that are updated this frequently charge monthly subscription fees to fund new content. IN ADDITION to charging for new content. The only game that doesn't do this is Warframe. Which has one of the most aggressive, in-your-face, constantly trying to nickel-and-dime you MTX system in the business. Not to mention being designed to be ABSURDLY grindy so as to encourage people to pay money to bypass that grind.

16 AntwortenBearbeitet von Infamous067: 7/8/2022 12:52:00 AMGo recommend them call of duty then, go ahead, I dare you. You think micro transactions are bad in destiny? You clearly haven’t seen every other game that offers cosmetics. Destiny is actually fine with its micro transactions, the fact we can purchase stuff with bright dust is amazing. You will never see EA or Activision ever give freebies. If you want a free to play game then go play other games, those are much worse.

3 AntwortenA point I haven't seen made on any of the other posts in this forum so far are that in every other game with the seasonal model it is a one-time purchase and if you invest the time to finish your seasonal pass you earn enough of the currency to buy the next season pass You could still be playing Fortnite on your original $10 investment as long as you invest the time to finish your season pass Bungie doesn't have anything that even puts them for that I've never seen them give away silver outside of Forsaken

3 AntwortenBungie Fanboys are losing their -blam!- in this comment section.

3 AntwortenIt’s too complicated to buy into the game. As greasy as the annual pass model was, it’s simplistic take on you have it or you don’t isn’t a bad concept, especially with how many things there are to buy now. If it could all just be one key for maybe 79.99$ everything’s all in, that’s easier to stomach imo but a lot easier to understand. Also I genuinely hate how my gear and guns transfer platforms but my content purchases don’t. There’s literally no reason content shouldn’t be account based these days.

DESTINY 2: The Second Job(TM) - are you tired of getting home from your 9 hour shift and having nothing productive to do? Buy Destiny 2: The Second Job(TM) and spend your time productively crossing off digital fetch orders and picking up digital berries from the ground. The best thing of all you will never run out of things to do, they appear on the screen infinitely!

My neighbors, who are both hardcore gamers, tried the free version and loved it but said it was to expensive to get caught up.

And when your work full time it's like 14hours of work. Now let's compare to other things. How much is Netflix for a year? If you smoke pot how much do you spend a year? How much a year on alcohol? I'd say destiny is fairly cheap when you consider other things. Let's not forget all the other things bungie are trying to do to improve the game. Of course they don't get everything right like sunsetting. Constantly fixing bugs, fast support team, regular contact with the community. Far more to it than you realise. As I said, bungie get alot of things wrong. In fact, theirs alot of things bungie can be called out for. Find another studio like that.

3 AntwortenThis game is expensive, but you know packs existing, you don't need to buy everything individualy. And you know, Warcraft exists, you need to pay monthly for a subscription to play and on top of that buy expansions
-
4 AntwortenThat's why they have the free to play version. If you enjoy the gameplay loop you pay for the bulk of the content. Is a bit pricey? Yeah I guess, but go on the PSN store and tell me what isn't.
-
2 AntwortenPrices apparently don’t go up in the world you live in. If you’re buying all content for a year it’s breaks down to less than 10$ a month. That’s absurdly cheap and you tell me the hobby that’s cheaper.
-
22 AntwortenSounds like you and your friends should stick with Fortnite.
-
1 AntwortenSame here. Played since 2014, got over 5000 hours. Everytime somebody asks me how the game is I say I hate it more than I can possibly convey through speech, but I have over 5000 hours and can’t put it down…
-
4 AntwortenRemember when they made the game free to play because it was hard getting people into the game cuz they needed to buy loads of DLC? What’s changed exactly? Somehow the game got worse
-
Also too many players paying for power and don't even know how to get a public event to go heroic
-
8 AntwortenStop the presses Op, his imaginary friend and his 2 fellow ham radio club members don't want to spend money for content. Poor bungie, it's bankruptcy time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
-
This goes without saying. Anyone who is actually a friend wouldn’t be pushed in the direction of destiny. I appreciate the comment. I’ll get to sit back and watch victims of terminal sunken cost defend destiny.
-
Forsaken and Shadowkeep should be free.
-
Bungo reads the post “We don’t care”
-
Thats nice..anything else?
-
I’m gonna find all your two friends and highly recommend D2.
-
Well you probably not gonna recommend gas, food, or litteraly anything with inflation and the global economies going to crap. Its not a charity pay or don't play its really that simple.
