Master VotD 3rd encounter is insane. I was with a team that did the first and second counter on the very first attempt including the challenge. Then we got to the third encounter and three and a half hours later we gave up. In particular, the third part of the third encounter is absolutely insane.
You have three people with relics standing up against Champions and shielded enemies and you can't do anything towards them. At best you can just try and Dodge to stay alive and maybe kill one or two red bar ads.
That leaves three individuals to kill for champions and an insurmountable number of void and Solar Shield at enemies and a very tightly controlled timed event and this team of players that I had with me that was highly skilled could not accomplish getting past the third part of that encounter so we don't even know what the final room looked like.
I'm all for Champions. I'm all for shielded ads. However, it's one thing to have an entire fire team able to do something against them and another when you only have three individuals who are capable of doing anything and they have to run all over the map in order to accomplish it. The fight is absolutely insane and I can't even imagine how the hell we're going to do that on the week where it is the extra Rewards.
Now, if you made it so those with artifacts could more easily break Shields or stun champions, then I don't think there's anything to complain about. But the way that it stands right now, that encounter is absolutely insane.

6 AntwortenDoesn't everyone here have a ghallahorn? Everyone here should have the capacity to solo nuke their own champions.

14 AntwortenIt really isn't that bad with proper coordination. I ran it with two different teams over the past couple days. As long as people aren't trying to speedrun each area, it is fine. Here are some tips: 1. Everyone needs to have Overload and Unstoppable on, and that means EVERYONE. No one should be making any excuses for why they can't stun a Champion. While Overload Grenade is great, I would still recommend 2 weapons that can stun champions on demand. Believe it or not, using a Glaive for Unstoppables is actually pretty good that can deal some pretty good damage as well (using the energy attack, not melee). 2. Everyone needs to have Void and Solar on, and that means EVERYONE. There is zero excuse for why shielded adds are left alive. I was using a Solar Glaive and a Void Warlock and prioritizing my abilities to take out Shields. And for my heavy I was using... 3. Gjallarhorn is king. It completely wipes out waves of adds and it a top tier option for this encounter. Use heavy ammo always and try to finish Champions with Lucent Finisher for more heavy. If you don't have a relic in the 3rd room and are picking up in the 4th room, expect to have ZERO heavy ammo by the time you finish the room. If you don't have a relic in the 4th room, spray Gjallarhorn. 4. Void Warlock is OP and use as many as you can. Vortex Grenades can take out mobs of adds and Nova works well to destroy a side of adds. My first time through, we had 4 Void Warlocks and it significantly helped. I also saw some success with Stasis, but just be careful not to use Stasis on Champions as it messes with them being stunned. 5. Have designated roles, designated sides, and don't deviate, ever. You want to ensure that at all times, there are at least 2 people on each side, there is ZERO excuse for someone being on a side alone. A very easy strat is to have both Nut relic players take one side and everyone else take the other side, that way, when the VOG and Taken relics need to swap back and forth, it leaves 2 players consistently on each side. And when I say don't deviate, don't deviate. "But they need help and I want to help." No. That is not your job. More likely than not, you swapping your role means you are leaving someone to solo a side which will most likely end in a wipe. Everyone needs to get comfortable doing their own role, which means consistently having everyone take on a single role. 6. You can drop the Nut relic, just keep an eye on the timer. Especially after the first Knight is killed, you can drop the relic and help kill adds on your side with weapons and abilities given that the timer jumps to about 45 seconds. Just be sure to go back and get the relic to kill the second Knight before the time ends. 7. Slow down and kill everything as a team. Everything hurts in this encounter and all adds need to be killed (with very few exceptions). Don't run past groups of adds because they will just follow you and eventually kill you. Don't leave snipers up because they will inevitably wipe your team. You don't need to act like a speedrunner, there is plenty of time to kill everything. 8. Find people that are experienced and high Light Level. Not being elitist, just being practical. This is a Master Raid, not the time to carry people through encounters. Do you need people with 100+ clears, no, but you need people that know all roles, know where adds spawn, and have a complete understanding of how the encounter works. Don't know where the Taken Blights spawn? Unacceptable. Don't know where Champions spawn? Unacceptable. Don't know the timing for cleansing both sides in the larger rooms? Unacceptable. For Light Level, while you can do it with anyone over 1271, I'd post for 1280 min. If you have someone on your team that isn't making the cut, there is no shame in saying "Looks like you aren't quite ready for this, let us know when you are at a later time." My group yesterday had a very nice Fireteam leader that didn't want to kick one guy that would refuse to do about half of this list and caused us to waste about 2 hours. Sometimes you just need to replace members. Just make sure if you do this, you make it clear in your post that you need people that know what to do and will be replaced if they don't hit the mark.

35 AntwortenJust skip it lol. Do challenge, and then CP hop to boss. 0 reason to do caretaker. Red bar adepts don’t count as frames

Just imagine how much more of a pain the Master Exhibition challenge would be if the challenge was Glyph to Glyph instead of Defenses Down. Think about it.

You need some amazing communication for that encounter, took my team a while too.

Hey at least you get a chance at a worse weapon than you the ones you can craft 👍😂

This is where I put in a plug for dead messenger which is under the radar a very powerful weapon (especially paired with the warlock secant filament boots) It’s very good at clearing trash mobs up close, which is what most of that encounter is, can rotate to void or solar, and grants you an overshield when you break an elemental shield (with the catalyst) and is witherhoard level ammo friendly. Plus In the warlock empowering rift it will stun overload champions

1 AntwortenApparently it’s a waste of time

Bearbeitet von ILoveI6v6I: 4/21/2022 2:34:47 AMVoid grenades, gjallarhorn, and a blinding grenade launcher? Pretty much what everyone was using in contest mode should still work here. Gjallarhorn still kills anything regardless of what shield it has and is great for taking out tons of enemies at once, blinding grenades help with going to remove the taken blights, and void grenades still melt everything as well.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Sarah Rose: 4/20/2022 7:55:20 PMI agree. The taken blight relic at least does void damage so you can work with that to kill the snipers, but the others are just useless... You can't have AND super tanky enemies AND have them deal massive unreasonable damage AND have tons of shields with match game AND have champions around every corner AND have a tight AF timer. It's too flipping much. It's like they didn't even test this. I bet not a single employee at Bungie could get through this encounter.

Out of curiosity, was your team using the raid mods?

It’s killed what remained of my desire to go for the title. Not worth the time and stress and the rewards aren’t helping.

I killed an Overload n exhibition yesterday with nothing but the stupid laser beam relic, an overload nade and a finisher. You can make it work
