Hi there. Crossplay is optional. You can turn it off in the Settings menu in-game.
Note that if you turn it off you can only matchmake with other players on Xbox that have also turned off the setting, so expect longer wait times when queueing. Crossplay is also required to be on to participate in Trials.

It's not an Xbox setting, it's an in-game setting. Like I mentioned, it limits you to only being able to match with other Xbox players that also have Crossplay turned off. The vast majority don't turn it off, so there's only so many people you can match with, which may make it difficult or take a long time to match with anyone.

My mistake. Apparently Xbox is different from PS and it's changed in the Family settings of the console.
