Bungie, what are you thinking? The game expects FAR too much from some people and gives next to absolutely nothing for their time and effort. I don't have a degree in game design, but even I can tell you are doing some things wrong.
You never put a passive, but semi-potent goal after a significant milestone with almost no rewards in between. I'm looking at the Gambit and Vanguard ornaments for the Ascendancy in particular. The amount of time and effort required to unlock them isn't anywhere near worth it. The whole game is beginning to become a grindfest like that. I'm finding less and less that I actually want to do as the grinding has become the core gameplay. This game has fallen from its AAA status to mere "random f2p grindfest" status and I hate it. It feels cheap.

23 AntwortenBearbeitet von Candy: 12/2/2021 6:20:49 PMThe real issue is it’s not meaningful. You fire up the game ready to play, willing to spend your time…. Then you stare at your ship in orbit for two minutes and remember there’s no reason to play, then log off

1 AntwortenReally bord and tired of dismantling. Just fed up with pointless crap. Hence why I really cant be bothered playing properly. Just stale and old.

5 AntwortenIt’s an inventory management sim as far as I am concerned I spent more time managing items and deleting stuff than I would spend playing activities

There's not enough grind!

1 AntwortenNot as bad as Halo Infinite, but yeah its bad

Its supposed to be done over a span of months. If you played just a few matches a week, it will complete passively as the season rolls along. Theres literaly no upside to grinding for an ornament in big sessions. Take it a few games at a time, and just let it come naturally.

Yeah love the not 1 but 2 resets needed all to get the very launcher you already have....stupid as all F

1 AntwortenThe new ornament method is really really sucky. Same with just obtaining the ritual weapon. Make it a quest again. If it takes someone 15 games of Crucible and someone else 5, so be it. The person who did it in 2 probably knew what the hell they were doing and should rewarded for it. If someone got their 500 solar kills in strikes in 3 strikes and someone else took 10, so be it. The other person wasn't being efficient. Like seriously. If it was the quest format I would've had all 3 ornaments weeks ago. I still dont have the Vanguard one. Also on the note of Vanguard rep period, GMs need to grant more, patrols should grant some, and strikes just need to be more engaging again with specific loot to add on.

2 AntwortenDestiny is a joke. It's usually fun/addictive for the first few of new DLC but after that it quickly dries up. It's an easy game to leave It's really only because there was recently somewhat of a dry spell with gaming on PS5 that I even came back to this game after 3 years away. It was fun for a bit but now it's tedious af, plus the game is absolutely rife with cheaters (what, you actually believe ALL of those people in trials were just better & not using modded controllers, or obvious mod menus & things like Aimjunkies). One game I was hoping to play which finally came to PS5 recently was Deaths Door. I've had more enjoyment from Deaths Door in one day than I have in 3 months with Destiny 2. Idk what games you're into, but you should checkout Deaths door, Spiritfarer, & Hollow Knight if you want some amazing indie games to play that are all more enjoyable than D2. Oh & Mortal Shell, I played they last year, that was great too.

Exactly, the grind is too much and takes way too long. That’s why I’ve jumped ship to Halo Infinite, get -blam!- Bungo

4 AntwortenWell let’s see….if the rewards aren’t worth the effort then the easiest solution is to not waste time chasing them. Who would of thought. Playing an action shooter game because you like the gameplay. As opposed to playing an action shooter game to collect cosmetics like this is the Sims or something…. Y’all are insane.

Been the same grind for years now. Just let people who enjoy wasting away have fun

2 Antworteni got the gambit ornament like the first couple of weeks vanguard on the other hand

4 AntwortenMy only complaint about Ascendancy’s ornament (which I’ve already given up on getting for Gambit) is that you have to go around the wheel twice, even if you already have Ascendancy. You can’t pay me to play enough Gambit to make that happen. I don’t like that after having already obtained it, you still have to obtain it again. They should’ve imo made it so you can claim the ornament after 1 reset if you already own Ascendancy. Got the Crucible one first week, it’s my preferred activity. I don’t like Gambit at all really, certainly not enough to reset twice (which I haven’t ever done historically either).

1 AntwortenI am not gonna lie, i had to smile at the "is beginning to become a grindfest" part. LOL. This game has been an absolute grindfest ever since random rolls were introduced back in year 2. Thats why Bungie should have been way way more generous on quantity of rewards since they removed static rolls. But no, Bungie wants to satisfy investors with constantly high player numbers. So they keep the rng system rigged.

1 AntwortenI have never reached Legend in Comp. The freelance matchmaking must know this because exactly when I'm on a match that if I win I hit Legend , it decides to stack the 3 best players on the opposing team. They all have 2 plus KDs for the season. It keeps happening. The game doesn't want me to stop being on the hamster wheel.

Gambit I managed fairly easy as I just went ham combat wise banging match after match out quickly but vangaurd was a no for me until yesterday when I found out a clan mate did 20 ish nightfall on hero and got from 2000 points to ornament so I'll do that saturday

3 AntwortenNot a top tier game anymore.

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Maxine: 12/3/2021 1:02:43 PMClearly, you never played Warframe

8 AntwortenHardly anything in this game is a grind fest if you choose to not make it a grind.... you dont need to grind out a cosmetic ornament...

2 Antworten
The Grind is Ridiculous
... and boring and unrewarding.

2 AntwortenYou aren't wrong. I mean, if someone is working their way through the game, then it's realistic, but for those of us that have already beaten the game, done our GMs, cleared our raids, it's just insane amounts of worthless time wasted. Why do I, an endgame player, need to farm the same boring strikes I've been doing for 4 years for weeks on weeks just to get an ornament I'm never going to use on a weapon that I'm never going to equip because it's worse than the ones I already have? There's no need to make it take so long and force players to grind all 3 rank systems in playlists they've gotten tired of already. But people always say "it's to make you play all of the game because they are seasonal challenges" and then argue with me when I say they should add a few raid ones then because "well not everyone does raids". Ironic eh? Do everything but only if it's what they want and support. At the end of the day, they just need to tone down the grind, tone down the amount of eververse items, and add some proper rewarding content

Bungie don’t want you to complete enough challenges to get the pile of bright dust, hoping you spend silver instead.
