You guys at Bungie really should consider admitting that the seasonal limitations imposed on players via the artifact is a bad idea. And change it.
Let us play the game the way we want to!
All of the champion mods need to be removed from specific archetypes and reassigned in some other way. A simple fix is anti barrier goes to kinetic, overload to energy, unstoppable to heavy. Get rid of the first line of champion mods on the artifact all together and make the champion mods intrinsic. Your ridiculous method of adding artificial difficulty is not fun for the players. I have not enjoyed any pve content this season because the artifact mods suck so bad.
All weapon archetypes should be viable for all content. The fact that they are not is a major oversight on your behalf and it’s really zapping my desire to play.
Think about this: Scout rifles, sub machine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, heavy machine guns, trace rifles, rocket launchers, and all grenade launchers are currently not viable in high end pve content. That’s 8 of 14 weapon archetypes that you essentially left of out the game. Why?
I personally think the reason why is because Bungie wants to micromanage its content so much that it believes artificial difficulty and limits on play options make the end game pve content “hard” when in reality it’s not hard. It’s a chore and I don’t like playing video games that way.
My desire to keep playing this game is tied directly to wether or not you let me play the game the way I want to and not the way you want me to.
I’m not bothering with the grandmaster for a second straight week. With no freelance in trials either I just don’t have many reasons to play the game.
While I’m on a rant, I also want to add that upping the amount certain armor mods cost is a scumbag move, like the scavenger mods and argent ordinance. Just another example of Bungie dumbing down their game because they are literally nerfing guardians.

But then how would they have sold stasis? How will the sell you light 2.0? Sell a glaive? Get you to play the new season so you have meta_dps_exotic001? What on earth would they do without drawing weapon types from the Meta hat? ACTUALLY design instead of micromanage? What do you think they are? A studio NOT trapped in 90s style gameplay philosophies?

19 AntwortenI 100% agree the champion mods need to be reworked. I come off of a 2 year hiatus to this foolery now I forced to use a pulse rifle and bow.

You complain of limitations, but want to make anti-barrier kinetic, overload to energy, and unstoppable heavy? You realize how hypocritical that sounds? Bungie is at least gracious enough to move the archetypes around every season. There is nothing wrong with the weapons they've been making us use. If players can't make the adjustments to break out of their comfort zones and use weapons they may not be their idea type - then this just isn't the game for them.

Up to and including legend content I agree that everything should be viable. I dislike the forced meta through seasonal mods as much as the next person. Especially things like breach and clear or Particle Deconstruction. But, I apologize for going a bit elitist here, Master+ content is supposed to be hard. Difficult high-end PvE content shouldn’t just be “everything works”. I’m okay with it kicking my -blam!- for using a “bad” loadout. GMs or Master VoG require meta load outs and that’s fine.

I like it like this. It's a bit more challenging and spices things up slightly from season to season...

Limitations are super fun though! 🤗

I want to be overpower for no drawback and don't have to think while picking something.... We are already overpowered...you just need to think about it....
