I know this isnt that important but in German we have 2 perks with the same name because of error or wrong translation. We have 2 perks named "Überschuss".
Surplus = Überschuss
But the Overflow should be "Überfluss" or "Überlauf".
But "Überfluss" makes more sense then "Überlauf" because you can say: "Du hast einen Überfluss an Magazin" and thats excatly what Overflow does. It gives you more magazine then usual.
Its kinda anoying if someone says he got "Überschuss" but we never know which one, also its confussing at the same time.
I know you have major bugs to fix but maybe you can make this little change aswell. Would be cool tho...
Edit: in the last twab they say the will fix this issue and the title aswell !!!

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von Veldrin: 9/28/2021 5:59:43 PMThe german translation of 'heir apparent' is incredibly wrong. The correct translation of 'heir apparent' isn't 'Erbenerscheinung' but rather 'Rechtmäßiger Erbe'. The funny thing is that Erbenerscheinung sounds like a (heir) ghost that inherits, because Erscheinung can mean something like a ghost (Geist). Or it can be read as 'Der Erbe erscheint' (The heir appears), since Erscheinung can also mean that someone appears. Or even the guise of an heir. So Erscheinung can be similar to several english words like: (ghost) apparition or appearance or guise. Maybe the translation team had two glasses wine too much and choose the first entry in the dictionary without checking twice. Heir Apparent should be Rechtmäßiger Erbe, not Erbenerscheinung. Erbenerscheinung isn't even a real word ffs.

3 AntwortenEhh it’s Germany. They’re last on the list of priority.
-
67 AntwortenThat is because they mean the same thing. Like for example. My fridge is overflowing with food. And my fridge has a surplus of food. Its the same thing. That is why its translated to the same thing.
-
1 AntwortenI vote for uberlauf. I like that. If they could change the English overflow to Uberlauf, that would be great.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Tigerpaws: 9/28/2021 8:30:00 PMSurplus is extra than what is needed. Over flow is extra than what can be contained Two different ways of 'excess'. Mind you, the real excess are the friends you make along the way...

8 AntwortenAs a fellow German, I was say: set the default language to English for crying out loud! Honestly, regardless of these translation problems, I keep reading lfg posts in German and they sound horrible. I’m saying that as a German. Just doesn’t work in our language.

3 AntwortenAnnoying is spelt wrong and it's annoying

2 AntwortenMaybe get a better language?

1 AntwortenThe difference in English is the perspective from which you measure the excess. An overflow is measured from the perspective of the container. A surplus is measured from the perspective of the need of the subject. Obviously a container does not have needs, per se. Thus, surplus does not mean "too much" to be contained, that is what overflow means, surplus means an excess beyond expected or actual needs. This relates to the perks as such, there is too much ammo to fit in the mag, overflow. My ability or abilities are charged, so the surplus charging energy is diverted to boost weapon performance. I hope they adjust it for you accordingly.

Thank you. Seriously, thank you. I get a feeling the comments here will be interesting to read over. Lol. And I hope this feedback gets something of a look over, since it's causing confusion to some.

German has funny words but awesome sounding especially when "Uber" is put Infront of ally of words.
-
14 AntwortenSounds about right but also very easy to see how that could happen. Overflow and surplus, the words are synonyms. Very very close synonyms. Hopefully that gets fixed
-
2 AntwortenBearbeitet von GalaxySpider: 9/28/2021 3:14:21 AMYeah it's pretty annoying. We always have to be specific when someone rolls the perk... "Oh, you mean the one which gives you ammo or do you mean the stability/stat thing?"... ._.

1 AntwortenIn German the light sword attack keybind is still translated in "Licht Angriff" which is totally mistranslated. Since launch.

Shout out to our German friends let's get this fixed bungle
-
6 AntwortenI wish you a pleasant day. Cause the last time someone said bungie was wrong, people went crazy
-
10 AntwortenSorry to say bungo really doesn’t care what you want, they want your money, and with a skeleton crew running this game with small time helpers your only going to get game breaking patches and exploit patches that will reduce the grind time to keep people in game running their favorite hamster wheel. The first thing they should start with is separating sandboxes from the game, and they won’t even do that, I guarantee you that you’ll have a better time winning the lotto then bungo fixing any Qol patches you would love to see.
-
Feels bad man. I hate it when foreign movies or tv get the subtitles wrong, but I guess you guys have to deal with that more than I do. They’re synonyms, but have slightly different connotations. Hope Bungie gets on this
-
1 AntwortenHi there, thanks for the report. I've forwarded this to Bungie.
