Just decided to come back and give D2 some love after not playing for a few years. Downloaded the game, and logged in to find about 80% of the game that I bought and paid for is missing, and replaced with a few short missions that seem are just ads for the expansions that I missed (not to mention the full screen takeover ads that appear what feels like every other time I go to orbit).
Just shouting out to Bungie here, as I'm sure there have been other threads about this since whenever it is that all the planets disappeared, but this really makes me not want to buy any of the expansions, as there seems to be no guarantee that the content that I purchase won't get yoinked out from under me at some point in the future.
Maybe something like this doesn't really alienate F2P players, or players that are happy to buy expansions right away no questions asked, but for players like me, this is pretty disheartening.

10 AntwortenYou left for years and came back expecting everything to be the same. That's your problem there. The game changed, content came and went, and 99% of what was taken out nobody cared about anyway. Posts like this exist to just stir -blam!- up, and get people talking about how "bungo bad, they took away Mercury, muh fav mediocre destination".

4 areas gone, 4 added. Games change. get over it. Better to change than to stagnate

5 AntwortenIt is disheartening and it doesn't give me any confidence that they won't do the same thing for future expansions (I've heard they're thinking of vaulting Forsaken next). There's plenty of people who try to defend Bungie for the content vault and will call people entitled over it but when you think about it - you can't really justify it no matter what argument you use. New lights miss out on story and are thrown in not knowing who everyone is or what is going on, even if you aren't new to Destiny (played D1 but not D2) you still miss out and will only be left with characters briefly mentioning some events that are no longer in the game. Then there's people who have payed for it and yes I know Destiny is a live service game but it's scummy behaviour, using the 'live service' argument doesn't make it less scummy. Some people also like to blame the new lights or people who weren't playing for awhile because 'you weren't there so it's your fault you missed out.' thing is, if I could wind the clock back to when that content was still around (while keeping the knowledge that it will be removed) I wouldn't buy it, I wouldn't even bother with D2 at all, I'd save my money and find a different game.
If you disagree then feel free to down vote and move on or call me entitled, a clown or anything else you can come up with but I'm not interested in arguing.
Anyway, I'm just glad that they didn't mess with D1's content, D2 isn't getting another cent out of me or a single second of more play time until things change but I doubt anything will.

ITS NERF IR NOTHING…

1 AntwortenI can guarantee you they will sunset all currents content as well in a few years. I have weapons in my vault with locked power level... they are on my hard drive, just banned for using aside of patrols. Bungie is a scum.

11 AntwortenBearbeitet von El Mebaj: 9/6/2021 12:58:16 PMConclusion: Don't buy anything from Bungie. Try it when/if it's free, or get it with alternative methods (Gamepass, for example.) The community is so cucked that they are actually defending Bungie's decision to remove content people have paid 60, 120, 200$s for. They come at you with the license agreement, and while "legally" they are able to do this, show me one other -blam!- game that does this.
-
14 AntwortenThat fact that you got down-voted just shows why Destiny has the most toxic community in gaming.
-
Very valid complaint. That's all imma say at this point. While you were gone, the absurdity was pointed out. Interesting that this is so unpopular. I guess because enough people are "over it"?
-
Just came back after a year or two... and 80% of the game is missing, but i paid the same amount as for the full game. Fixed the title for you
-
7 AntwortenI really want Bungie to be bankrupt. But You know, looks like it will never happen with such spineless community.
-
Bungie is the king of cutting and recycling stuff you paid for access to. Welcome back to hell, guardian. Activision was the only thing keeping this company in check.
-
3 AntwortenDon't ever spend a single dime anymore in destiny, knowing nothing you buy will stay forever. Reject guardian Return to Tenno

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von ace010593: 9/6/2021 3:51:31 AMBungie expects you to either dedicate your life to Destiny or never play. Sorry they don’t let people take breaks without missing stuff. But yeah trashing most of their year one stuff was pretty scummy
-
This game has been gutted beyond belief. It gets boring real fast!
-
I see the downvoting crew was in full force on this post OP. I feel bad for ya because you have legitimate concerns.
-
Were was the new maps Bungie? Were was the new strikes Bungie? Where were the new missions Bungie?
-
1 AntwortenImagine just now coming back to see even worse activities than the ones they’ve sunset
-
1 AntwortenI just can't wait to buy them back in the super duper deluxe edition, with the exotic ghost and roadster
-
13 AntwortenFor me, It wouldn't be so bad if Bungie was replacing some of that content with quality content and at least trying to be consistent with the game, but they are not. A lot of it is just cheap throw-away content like these seasons, recycled D1 content, promoting eververse or reused areas like BW, etc... The lack of effort put into this game is more disheartening than them removing content. It's not the devs that do the work that is the problem. It's the greedy people that run this company that are the reason there are so many things that are so screwed up in this game.

Bearbeitet von 12HT DIESEL GOAT: 9/7/2021 8:35:55 AMwhen beyond light dropped and there was the big visual update, a lot was removed, my understanding is they actually had to individually port each planet and crucible map etc wich is supposedly quite a big task. what they couldnt realistically port back in with beyond light the put in the "DCV" destiny contemnt vault and have said things will be ported back in from there. i think this was all going on while the staff were working from home during initial covid aswell. Im no sympathiser for bungie or anything, but provided what theyve said is accurate regarding the porting situation etc i can sort of understand why a chunk was removed. At the end of the day, we dont pay for ownership rights to the game, just a license. the content and story etc theyve been adding over the past bit has been pretty consistent and pretty decent dude so im optimistic at the moment.

Here’s the attention you wanted…. Anyways.

In a recent interview (can’t remember if it was joe Blackburn) but it was stated that in the future, exotic only weapon types may be getting legendary variants.

1 AntwortenBungie basically has us renting content under the guise we're buying it. They removed planets we paid for and then they come out with a new seasonal activity only to take away the pinnacle for it when the next new season and activity comes out calling it "legacy gear" instead. This isn't okay and it should be illegal to remove paid content. The amount you used the content or the enjoyment of said content is irrelevant it was bought and paid for and they took your money and then took your content. I've been playing since the Alpha of Destiny 1 but if this is the future we're to expect of DLC from now on then they've lost me and my money. And I don't think I'm alone.

40 AntwortenYou didn't pay for anything in the game. You paid for a license to play and use the content of an evolving game. Please stop with the entitlement. I get that you've come back to things that are 'missing' but those things can happen in a game that needs to evolve.
-
1 AntwortenThis is Destiny 3 without the moniker. This was Bungie's brilliant market ploy.
-
Nope, the whole game you paid for is still here
