Bungie please please bring skill based matchmaking back The crucible is so bad right now for a lot of players I'm sure the people that pop off for 30 kills every game are going to deny how broken the system is but there's more mercies than ever before and the game mode is almost unplayable on the average player skill level. I cannot express to you how frustrating it is to have every single game literally every single game three people dominate a lobby and the rest of us are struggling. It makes no sense to have your game this way. The tryhards are going to cry about long match times and all this other bullshit but the fact of the matter is they just want cannon fodder so they can run through a lobby and pad their stats I don't want to be that cannon fodder anymore

Agreed 👍

32 AntwortenYeah, you point the finger to the top pvp players... How much hypocrisy. You have less than 0.7 kd. The only reason for you to have sbmm is because you are not skilled at the game. Try to improve and not to ask to matchmake with other low skilled players. With sbmm, with less than 0.7 you cannot improve your skill level.

You can't really blame the Pros and High tier players for not wanting laggy matches. It does happen to them with SBMM simply because there are not that many of them. You can't really blame the lower tier players for not wanting to get steamrolled every match. It does happen to them with CBMM simply because they get matched with people they have no business playing against. Low tiers can't seem to understand the Pro and High tier not wanting laggy matches. High and Pros can't seem to understand low tier not wanting to be steamrolled. With P2P servers, neither matchmaking will work for everybody. The only way for Crucible to somewhat work for all levels of players, would be to have generic weapons that are totally equal in stats, no exotics, no mods, you start with a set amount of special and heavy, and never get more.

Honestly I feel like they did but then F'd with a bunch of other matchmaking settings to make the PVP experience the worst I've ever seen it.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Kuzie: 6/22/2021 10:39:51 PMSBMM will be a total disaster again...due to skill gap between players now within pvp population and it being so low. Stacked teams of top tire players will become common place thus driving casuals out of CLASH and CONTROL. The only other option is a freelance playlist for CLASH,CONT,ToO.. but unfortunately i dont think you guys are ever going to get that ,so best advice i can give is try put together a team.

12 AntwortenBearbeitet von Hot Tasty Grits: 6/24/2021 12:56:51 AMI believe the problem with SBMM is: 0.7 vs 0.7 can be a slugfest with no real ground gained 1.5 vs 1.5 can be a slugfest with no real ground gained 2.0 vs 2.0 can be a slugfest with no real ground gained . 2.0+ vs 2.0+ can be a slugfest with no real ground gained. If you constantly match your equal , you will never get better . You will stay exactly where you are . You only see minor differences when someone is on their way up and is entering in at possibly a 1.5 on their way back to a 2.0. They will be matched in the lower bracket but usually run over the 1.5s for a few games until they move up. A younger high school wrestler that is wrestling in at 160 pounds may face off against senior that is also 160 pounds but a two time state champion. Chances are the more experienced wrestler will crush the younger one but if he’s worth his salt , the younger wrestler will remember how that match played out and what mistakes were made . They will then make the adjustment and carry it with them the remainder of their careers. Point is that you only learn new techniques from experiencing them and this usually comes from someone that has been performing them for awhile. Just food for thought .

No you don't get better under it. Also if you want sbmm comp is there. The other alternative is if they add MM choice bit you and i both know that's not gonna happen

Honestly for a player who has no problem being at the top in the lobby this system is broken ass hell. So I get your complaint..... but you’re issue is not with sbmm it’s with lobby balance if you’re at the lower end of the skill lvl you get outballance to a team who has a great player in the team to outballance the team play. This sucks for the lower skilled and beter skilled player. I don’t mind sbmm until honestly I don’t even have a change to chill. So I don’t know what the solution is but this one is painfull from time to time to I can agree..

Go play survival. Sbmm is turned up to 11 over there.

Just like weapon metas, it’s time to bring back sbmm. At least for a few seasons then go back to cbmm, repeat.

On the Crucible director, there should be the an option to choose 1. Free For All - no holds barred, all are welcome, all levels, noobs and gods. 2. Ranked Playlist - one where it will automatically put you in 1 of three tiers: Tier 1 - for KDs up to 0.99 Tier 2 - for KDs from 1.0 to 1.49 Tier 3 - for 1.5 and above I know that they're able to do this because they now display your K/D at the beginning of each match.

3 AntwortenIt wont happen bungie has decided to cater to small group of players and give the rest the finger. If were lucky with cross play itll come back if not well let pvp die like it has been since cbmm started.
-
2 AntwortenI want SBMM back BECAUSE I am often one of the three dominating teammates. It’s genuinely infuriating to have a 4.7 and see the rest of my team go barely positive as our team loses the match. CBMM is also a straight up lie since the servers and connections are the worst they’ve ever been

4 AntwortenMy opinion on this has been changing… normally I would argue against the addition of SBMM… but lobby balancing has been absolute garbage since Shadowkeep. Until the matchmaking can provide a decent experience, where the lobby balancing does not have one team absolutely destroying another, it doesn’t matter to me whether there is SBMM or CBMM. I don’t play the crucible anymore… I was, up until the last few months a daily player. I can’t stomach the predictable nature of being put on the losing team, and the lack of accomplishment knowing that match I just dominated, was at the expense of another set of players purposely put into a losing situation. There is no flow, no zen, NO WARM up. No white knuckle feeling of almost losing and pulling an amazing comeback… no clutch plays that feel organic… only dominate or being dominated. No sense of skill progression, no enjoyment, no fun. So why would a player like myself who has all but given up on the crucible hold on to this idea that SBMM is bad for the game. At least the people who want to play and enjoy the game could possibly get into lobbies that would not, potentially become as disjointed by the existence of higher level players mixing with lower skilled players like we have now. And it doesn’t look like Bungie has any intention to fix the broken lobby balancing.

1 AntwortenBad/lazy players hate SBMM
-
3 AntwortenSaid it before and I’ll say it again. SBMM ruins the game for anyone slightly good at this game. Just look at elim and comp. both are SBMM and: matchmaking lasts like 5-10 minutes or longer, it will match you with players on different parts of the world so games lag horrendously and each game plays out like an esport. Seriously you play on my account and see how fun it is waiting very long for one game of elim or comp just for it to be against a stack of top players from Brazil.

Bearbeitet von illz: 6/24/2021 10:16:55 AMDestiny 2 simply does not work with sbmm. It is not a serious shooter, it lacks a robust anti cheat and It already runs on a p2p connection which is super latent and laggy. Not only do matchmaking times increase but the lag becomes unplayable regardless of how good your own internet is. It currently uses team balancing which is a form of sbmm. I want to preface this by saying: You are not cannon fodder due to bungie as you stated. The team balancing will put players in the game at your skill level too. Even with sbmm turned on you were not breaking even. There is 100% potential for players to get better in the team balancing model. Having looked at your stats, you will not have better games with sbmm. You are clearly making bad decisions in game and the good news is that you can change that without having to rely on bungie. If you hope to seriously improve then asking for MM changes wont make a difference, i can assure you. Mercies are happening so often because for some reason bungie decided to change them and make them happen way too early. The majority of players are average at best, if you fall below this line then its actually on you to improve and you could very easily do so. If you are so invested in pvp as to make forum posts about the fundamentals of its matchmaking then surely you can channel that energy into actually improving? Plenty of youtube videos offer basic tips that you would seriously benefit from I started from the bottom, i used to be really bad in d1. I now have around 230,000 kills in pvp and i spent a lot of time learning and not complaining or asking for hand outs. You improve by playing better players. Especially in destiny.

12 AntwortenLet’s speak facts. You’re a below average player. You have a 0.84 KD and average 8.9 kills per game in QP. So those who are above average and even far above average should suffer because players like you can’t put their thumbs to work? I just don’t get it. We all play for the same rewards. On top of that, there’s no dedicated servers in this game. The better you are in pvp, the longer matchmaking takes to find players in your skill bracket. Only comp and perhaps IB should be skillbased. But QP and weekly pvp modes should be connection based.

2 AntwortenSBMM is in frelance comp. Play that lag infested wreck if you will. Greetings from someone with over 2000 comp games, 0 legend ranks despite having a positive kd (kd, not kda). Havent plsyed much at all past seasons, guess why..

27 AntwortenGo play COD. Let me know how that feels.

9 AntwortenHere we go again....... SBMM doesn't match me with my skill level. Never has. CBMM doesn't even work so there's that. In short neither one works and neither one is going to make up for how good or garbage you are at PvP. You don't want to be cannon fodder anymore? Fine. Do better.

7 AntwortenBearbeitet von ThuhMonty: 6/22/2021 6:08:59 PMInteresting you say this because while 3 players usually dominate per team, Im pretty confident that sbmm is indeed already active right now but bungie will deny it. Despite the fact that I’m fully confident it’s at least partly active right now, sbmm is not the way to go, cbmm is. There’s already a sbmm playlist and if you want that, go there.
