These are not quests or quest steps.
This is annoying and mindless.
Why isn’t Mithrax and Ikora fighting on the battleground, or if it’s mindless Luke smith dialog writing for lore points, just play an audio cut scene if you can’t be bothered to make a real cut scene.
The pointless traveling for skippable mediocre dialog with grade school drama inflection is corny.
NPCs should be fighting alongside and saying whatever they need to say.
There is no reason the have the tower to helm to tower to helm errands.
There are no discoveries or even anything interesting.
Even the rewards could just drop in your inventory during dialog.
This is so old and tired and lazy.
Let the NPC do SOMETHING along side. 8 years of this nonsense!

1 AntwortenI said this last season... why is the HELM it's own "activity" separated from the tower while being technically IN the tower... the Tribute Hall I get as it was on the Leviathan. But come on, just make it a zone you can walk to via the tower without having to "launch a new activity". My clan mates responded to this with "well they did it so its not open to everyone so people are just standing around making the area clustered and laggy" To which I replied "phasing?! I mean come on just phase it for fireteams. If they can do it for SPIDER and LOST SECTORS they can easily make a phasing zone for the HELM" Sorry but if yall have had a vendor in an open world area who's lair is phased for everyone FOR 3 YEARS, then you can do it with ease for the HELM...

1 AntwortenIn fairness, Luke Smith got promoted and is now overseeing Destiny across various media. So I highly doubt he oversaw this kind of a decision. That being said: it is a waste of time for us to go HELM-Tower-HELM for a story beat in a quest. I thought Bungie said they were going to respect our time more.

7 AntwortenI have been railing against this errand boy for do nothing NPC narrative FOREVER. I constantly get downvoted for it. And this season people are actually praising the Uber drawn out do nothing NPC lines as “ deep story development “. The story in the game is extremely poor. If anyone needs that confirmed just boot up any other game.

That's how bungie makes their numbers look better. Pointless travel time makes it look like they keeping players engaged. That's literally 5 more minutes then they would have got otherwise. It all adds up.

While I am enjoying the 'story' of late, this season has been a regression in many other ways. You nailed it on the head here. My other complaint would be the vex conflux bings along all of the infinite forests' problems. Bungie's design is just so bad... Be it strikes or this six player snooze-fest, how and why one player can set the pace and pull everyone forward is forever annoying.

At the least they should have made saint and ikora not visits but messages from the helm!! So the quest would be completed in the same area. I agree travel here travel there is a huge waste of our time . And it’s not needed at all.
