Been playing a lot of IB. Just want to let you know that besides all the other problems that exist in PvP/IB... there’s a huge special weapon spam problem. A majority of the people in my matches are spamming special weapons as if that were their primary weapon.
Edit:
I read some of your comments and I feel like I need to clarify.... I am NOT suggesting we go back to a double primary system. I think that Bungie’s concept in the game currently is for high risk and high reward. There’s no risk currently for using special weapons because the ammo economy is too prevalent and special weapons have become so powerful. This makes primaries largely irrelevant for a lot of players out there. I don’t think this fits in with Bungie’s philosophy. With that said, I don’t believe nerfing specials is the answer either. I think primary weapon BODY shot TTK should never exceed 1.2 seconds within their respective ranges, regardless of the primary weapon archetype. Also, scavenger mods should be disabled in PvP just like “finder” mods are already disabled in PvP. Collect some data and see if this balances PvP in some way. If it needs further tweaking, you can do so later after collecting some data.

2 AntwortenSpecial Ammo crates are the best special ammo meta in my eyes and hear is why, first it instantly completely nerfed camping because you had to move out of spawn to get special ammo at all times, second you obviously as to use primaries more often but there was still a good balance of secondaries and primaries. ( Except off first spawn, you would spawn with special ammo which was fine. I think crates made pvp more interesting having to learn the spawns knowing when they come up etc I think personally it was best special meta. (As long there is no stuff like icebreaker or stuff like that, that just gens ammo and break meta.

The special weapon wielder should take more damage the closer they get while wielding a shotgun. This would make them stop aping.
-
24 Antwortenthis is why they never should've took shotguns and snipers and fusions out of the heavy slot. but bungie just had to cater to the b*tches on twitch and youtube who cried for a year to get them back in the special slot.
-
2 AntwortenJust like d1, people are going to end up with a non special meta and then people will crutch and rely on sidearms and or straight abilities. Hope bungie can figure it out
-
1 AntwortenLet me spell it out for you really simply. In iron banner a lot of people are under levelled when light level advantages are enabled. Meaning you’re at a major disadvantage using a primary against higher levelled players. Thus, they use special weapons so they can kill in one shot with no disadvantage. Simple.

I hope they do tune this in some way asap.

The root cause of the problem is not special ammo. It is the excessive speed of player movement and the match. Player movement has become so fast that it allows gamers to get kills quickly and generate special ammo quickly. If special ammo was nerfed without reducing player speed, the players at the low end of the leaderboard would generate little or no special ammo for themselves.

If you want to curb Special Weapon usage without ruining Special Weapons do the following: Disable ALL Scavenger mods in PVP Extra ammo has a low chance to spawn after single Primary Kills, and has a greater chance to spawn after multi kills. The more people defeated the greater the chances. Maybe a Triple Down or better would guarantee a Special drop. Start the match with 2 rounds of Special On respawn you start with 0 Cap the reserves of Special Weapons at 5 rounds.

36 AntwortenThat’s Destiny pvp..and always will be until Bungie speeds up the primary weapon TTK. Shotgun nerfs change nothing Ammo nerfs let even worse things into the game.
-
1 AntwortenSimple fix. Only primary kills drop special. That way you can’t shotgun, pick up the special drop and run off and repeat. And spawn shotguns with ONE round.
-
Yup. That’s all of crucible now. I’d guess that 65-75 percent of my deaths are to special/heavy/abilities. Primary gunfights that end in kills are a rarity.
-
How will I ever get kills without my one shot kill weapons.
-
Hmm, almost like there’s a quest that requires special kills.
-
It's so much fun when every match has 3-4 trashy players spawn-rushing with Jotunn or Witherhoard and you can hear them shooting one every 3 seconds.
-
You can starve them of ammo by running dual primary, I've been doing that with Fighting Lion and Braytech Werewolf

1 AntwortenSpecials get spammed in pvp in general, so they should either reduce it (like only 1 brick which gives 1 ammo) or you spawn with none or less
-
Bearbeitet von SolarCerberuS: 6/15/2021 7:48:24 AMOf course well when you die you are rewarded with special ammo. And with scavenger mods allowed in pvp there is an abundance of ammo, specials for the most part (except trace rifles) are ohk weapons so no surprise they are popular
-
3 AntwortenYou should have to get a kill with a primary to get special ammo. Something like that
-
Easy fix. Remove heavy from all pvp and no special. You fight for special bricks Sound familiar? Destiny 1.

Bearbeitet von Renegade: 6/15/2021 1:27:26 PMIf you were a developer and your game was completely cheated and you had no answer to make pvp legit, would you still develope content for a playerbase that cheats and ruins it for the legit playerbase?? Youd be deving for cheaters and get no rewars or satisfaction.
-
This is what I hear from most people on this thread, "But I just want to stand in one spot and hard scope with my scout rifle for an entire match."
-
When stasis is nerfed what do you think the sweats with pimples in their cracks are gonna do?? Ape w special weapons. Never ends. No skill required....
-
10 AntwortenAll they gotta do is disable scavenger in pvp and drop your special to 1 on spawn. Of course thats too hard for bungie
-
Have to agree, the shotgun spam dominates to an absurd degree, people will do almost anything to avoid a primary 1v1. I know some people find it fun this way but I find it tedious. I'd like to see PvP move away from the heavy focus on Control game modes and move special ammo to crate pickups.
-
They know. They just talked about it in firing range. The tune is coming.

4 AntwortenThey could easily fix it by doing 3 things, but they clearly don't care and are going to leave it as is. It has been this way ever since they left the double primary system. Don't see them changing it now.
