From your game history, it’s regular strikes and maybe a legend lost sector. Regular strikes are a boss bake with just heavy. You don’t need an exotic with that amount of setup. A legend lost sector is a joke without them as well. I ran flawless masters without using it.

You gotte be a pretty pathetic person to try and doxx someone’s game history to justify a bs point.

Doesn’t matter don’t sink that low it’s just a game man. Respect yourself.

Well star eaters are meant for extra dps, so you would want to run it in raids, nightfalls, and strike bosses. Of course having people speed running strikes is a bit annoying, but the point is star eaters shouldn't be reset, otherwise the exotic is boofed for the future.

Shouldn’t be rewarded for falling behind and not staying with your team because you are trying to set up for “big DPS”. Raids are already easy. Garden is a 1-2 phase, as is taniks and atheon. Templar is a 1 phase without star eaters. You don’t need star eaters for champions in GMs because they take too long to setup and the DPS honestly isn’t worth it when it only applies to your super. It’s barely useful in lower tier content, and is niche at best only when you can swap. It’s possible it’s only trait is to help get super faster.

Actually, you shouldn't be punished for falling behind with your team. Just as people who want to speed run the game have the right to do so, people who want to complete bounties, sidequests, etc should be able to as well. I think all buffs in general should be kept even after being teleported. As for the setup, I don't necessarily know, but it should be possible, and also the extra damage is nice. They could buff it with more damage, but the point of this thread is that for a special exotic with the unique ability to store overcharged supers, should be able to hold onto it as long as you are alive.

It should not stay. Should be rewarded for falling behind.

If it gets its effect removed from a simple teleportation, it makes the exotic worse. The idea of it keeping the orb buffs when being tped or dying could possibly increase the usage or make the exotic which you said is trash better. This idea advocates for the exotic being a improvement. Otherwise nobody would even want to use it like the aeon set xD.

Every exotic shouldn’t be “god mode does more damage”. That’s power creep, and stupid.

I mean its not really "god mode" everywhere. If you die you get punished but at least it should be safe from tp. Thats the point of the thread. It makes it so that it is easily viable for players to use in other pve content other than raids. It doesnt make it op, and it still retains the niche as a pve exotic. I don't get how that is stupid. Didnt they nerf the setup for the bonus recently as well? Since it takes a setup of 8 orbs, it should be a gamble only if you die.

Bearbeitet von poggiewoggie162: 6/10/2021 11:04:24 PMHow does that matter though? If a player is speedrunning and someone just can't manage to catch up, its not their fault. And its pretty negligible if you think about just TPing. In high level gameplay, people tend to use coms and wait for teammates anyways. What do you mean about abusing TP?

If you can’t keep up with your team, it is your fault. There’s that entitled “the world must wait for me” mentality.

Bearbeitet von poggiewoggie162: 6/10/2021 11:31:05 PMLmao that isn't what is being said at all guy, read the context through the thread. The point is being able to keep your buffs through a tp. How does that even relate to the “the world must wait for me mentality"? And you still haven't explained the "abuse" of tp. A player still needs to participate in the activity to get the buff. I am certain I have justified how this single idea of a positive mechanic would be nice for this exotic, prove me wrong.

Bearbeitet von poggiewoggie162: 6/10/2021 11:45:36 PMWhy would most players not stay with their team? If this is an argument against speedrunners, you and you can just leave and find a new fireteam, or even make your own group. If it is against afk or trolling players, you can easily do the same. Keeping the buff through tp is not a problem that negatively impacts the game, it is in fact a quality of life improvement. If you can properly explain to me how having that actually makes the game worse, broken, more toxic, etc, then I will concede, but otherwise, I cannot see why having star eaters save buff through tp to be a bad thing. Plus it is a new exotic, some people like to use new exotics instead of the same meta all the time.
Where specifically though?
Nightfalls, raids, regular strikes, override, expunge, lost sectors.
