I'm getting tired of how much modern Destiny raids depend upon this overdone mechanic for their encounters. So many of them boil down to "getting the correct order," beit glyphs, wall nodes, oracles, etc.
I know that people like to say this about a lot of Bungie's design decisions, but I'll just say it how it is: it's lazy. It forces "teamwork" and """communication""" via arbitrary failstates. It's the most shallow reason to need six players other than absurd health bars.
For example, people say that the changes to VoG are good, as they require "teamwork and communication." I, personally, think that they're full of shit. It's not "teamwork" to go tell 1 or 2 players "better get this right, or everyone wipes." It's not "communication" when half of the team needs to keep their mouth shut most of the time so the readers can call out. Do you want to know what a raid involving actual teamwork and communication looks like? It's called King's Fall.
Why this annoys me so much is because raids were a big reason why I played the game so much back then. Nowadays, I'd be surprised if I do a raid more than twice in a few months due to how much of a tedious, tiring drag they've become.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von TheArtist: 6/2/2021 5:17:16 PMThis is one of the reasons why I stopped doing Destiny 2 raids. D1 raids like Vault of Glass and Wrath of the Machine were a enjoyable blend of combat and communication. The mechanics were there, but they never got in the way of feelling like you are in a firefight. Kingsfall was super-mechanics-heavy, but you could at least rationalize that fact by telling yourself that you were trying to control Hive magic. But with raids in Destiny 2, the raids started to emphasize these arbitrary mechanics to the point that actual combat started to feel like an after thought....and was there only to make the mechanics more challenging to pull off.....not the mechanics being there to spice up the combat. So the raids all started to feel like: Stand Here Shoot This....Stand There Shoot That. ...and build diversity (as a Warlock) withered and died because everything got designed and tuned around Well of Radiance and Ward of Dawn.....and I was being forced to run the same build (Middle-tree Dawnblade with Lunafaction boots) every time. It stopped being fun. The raid loot sucked....and a certain infernal place was going to freeze over before I got on that hamster wheel of grinding raids I didn't like every week for a "chance" at getting an overpowered-and-deliberately-super-low-droprate exotic. Because Bungie was deliberately crutching on that grind as a way to keep people playing an experience that had little else (imo) to offer.

4 AntwortenWhat are “actual mechanics” to you then. Lot of complaints, no solutions. You should have to get e mechanics right. You don’t complete encounters by doing things wrong. Sounds like you’re just upset that it isn’t easy as crap to complete the raid for you.

1 AntwortenThe game you're referring to is just Simon. Simon says is a very different game.
