It was a bright a sunny morning in the hanger. Amanda was working on a sparrow, and Saint was feeding the birds. As I sat there on the stairs, wondering what to do with my day off. Then it struck me. “Hey obvious, I’m not allowed to explore my past right?” “Correct.” “But say I already know my past. Then if I were to go to said place I’d just be visiting, because I already remember that place?” “Guardian what are you getting at?” Obvious said in a suspicious tone. “Want to go on a road trip?” I said with grin. (To the best of my ability anyway). I jumped into my ship, punched in the coordinates, and was off. “You know, that store we went to a few months back?” “Yes I remember it was a complete waste of time!” Obvious replied. “Well did you know my house is near there?” “Wait your exploring your HOUSE?” “Yup. And there’s nothing you can do about it.” I replied. After several hours of silence the gps went off. “And we’re here!” I jumped out and stopped. “Hey obvious.” I say choking on emotion. “I’m here. I’m really here. After all these years I’m back.” I retreated deep into my mind, remembering everything. Driving my RC car, going for bike rides. I slowly walked up to the front door, and gently opened it. It opened up into the dining room with the staircase leading to upstairs. As I slowly made my way through the house, I saw images of myself as a boy running through the house. “It’s all still here.” I say with happiness. At the end of the hall I turned to my left. “My old bedroom!” It still had all the shelves with Legos and models on them. “Guardian not to ruin the joy, but somethings off and I think it’s coming from downstairs.” Obvious said with worry. “Alright. But how am I gonna get downstairs? There wood stairs.” “I could transmat you down the stairs?” “Whatever gets me down there without breaking the house.” And just like that I was in the basement. “I know what you mean. Something is off. Oh no.” I say as I walk towards the studio door. A pale green light was coming from the cracks in the door. Just to confirm it a moth came out. I opened the door to find Hive gunk in the room. Behind the hobby table, a hole was leading down into the ground. Anger started to boil inside me. I got the hobby table (at least what remained of it), put in front of the hole and rode it down the tunnel. I hit a rock at the bottom, launching my face into the ground. As I stood up I looked in horror. Several hundred feet under my house, the hive made a breeding ground. Orange sacks were everywhere, and in the center the brood queen. “Guardian maybe you shou.” I charged her before Obvious finished speaking. I jumped up and activated Chaos Reach on her. I dropped into a summersault, then jumped back up again with a nova bomb. As I watched her body disintegrate, I got launched into a wall. As I got up and turned around I saw a knight two times the size of Crota charging towards me. I summoned dawn blade and charged the knight. I jumped up to his chest and stabbed him in the heart and cut off his head. I fell over from being overwhelmed. I looked around and noticed my vision getting darker. I fell asleep. When I woke up she was there. Looking at me with her orange eyes. I forgot what she looked like with her blue skin and blonde hair in a bun. I blink to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating. When I opened my eyes again she was gone. But I knew she was there because of the note in my lap. After fully waking up, I started clearing the rest of the nest. Thankfully it was one big room which made it easy. I made it to the last sack. As I reloaded to shoot it, I saw a shape quivering in fear. At that moment I took pity on it. As my hands got nearer it closed its eyes. “Don’t worry I won’t hurt you.” I picked it up and cradled it in my arms. “Know we need someone to take care of you.” I made my way back to the tower just in time. I snuck into the hanger into Snakehide’s ship and I put a baby acolyte covered in a little blanket, in the seat with a note. “Found this little guy. Need someone to take care of him.
