Once you’re inside, a waiter greets you at the door. “Good day, madam. Would you like a table?”
English
-
*Adria nods.*
-
“Right this way, please.” The waiter leads you to a table, and then hands you a menu. After they walk away, you hear a voice chime in from behind you. “Can you believe there’s not a single drinking joint on this entire wreck?” A woman says, leaning back on her chair, spinning a wine glass in her hand. “All I could find is the cheap wine at this restaurant.. Well, maybe cheap isn’t the right word, but still.”
-
*Adria listens.*
-
“Uh huh.. Well, someone’s not exactly a conversationalist, hm?” She takes a sip of her wine.
-
“Is that a threat?”
-
The woman let out a loud laugh. “Oh, lighten up dear! You’re at a party, not an assassin’s convention. It wouldn’t hurt to crack a smile, you know?”
-
“I know.”
-
She chuckles. “Do you? You could’ve fooled me.” She says, taking another sip of her wine.
-
“Could I? Not really.”
-
“You aren’t giving yourself enough credit, you totally could have. You aren’t laid back enough to know you’re at a party.”
-
“How can you tell?”
-
“The way you’re talking, obviously. Nobody’s going to jump and think they’re being threatened at the slightest provocation unless they’re on edge.”
-
“True, true.”
-
“So lighten up a bit. We’re all here to have fun, aren’t we?”
-
“You have a point, say, what’s your name miss?”
-
“You can call me Aubrey.”
-
“Adria.”
-
“Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Adria.”
-
*Adria turns back to the waiter, if there even is one.*
-
The waiter approaches you and asks for your order.
-
“Fish, it really doesn’t matter which type, thank you very much.” | *Adria turns back to Aubrey.*
-
The waiter takes your menu, amd walks away to get your order. “I suppose you’re lucky the food here is all well prepared. With such a vague order, you could’ve wound up with something rather disgusting.”
-
“Well good thing I have a few substitutes in case things go south.”
-
“I’m not sure whether to say it never hurts to come prepared, or point out how strange it is coming into a restaurant when you already have food on you.”
-
“Why not both.”
