I’m worried mainly about endgame and I’m seeing negativity sorrounding the game already. What do you guys think based on everything you’ve seen or heard so far?

1 AntwortenI feel like it will have more longevity than Anthem, but I don’t think I’ll like the gameplay and story quite as much as Anthem’s.

2 AntwortenI felt that way before I played the demo. People Can Fly (the devs) did three things that are really smart. 1. They aren't promising people an endless supply of things to do (live service). 2. They put out a demo, and told people that the progress would carry over to the real game. So the demo is acting as a DECOY that will absorb all the toxic farming strategies that the streamers and game-breaker can throw at it. So they can adjust and fix all those things BEFORE the game comes out. Instead of tryiing to do it while people are doing everything they can to break the game and ruin their experience of the game. 3. Their World Level system will basically act as an auto-scaling system....and they are going in with a clearly defined end-game. Something both Avengers and Anthem really didn't have...and both games suffered for it.

We live in an age where a game's status at launch doesn't mean jack. It's the developers' drive to solve the game's problems in the long run that determines if it lives or dies.

5 AntwortenIt's just a vdieogame so you shouldn't be worrying about it at all.

I don’t think people should go into any game expecting it to be their new favourite that they’ll spend years of their life dedicated to, that’s not a healthy way of gaming because you’re just setting yourself up for disappointment, especially with new IPs. I don’t think I ever expected to still be playing Elder Scrolls or Fallout games 7/8+ years after their release, and yet here I am. Ignore the endgame, you can worry about that once you’ve finished the good or not good story.

It’s the next Destiny killer!

It's possible for any game to be "another Anthem" the way people eat that shit up. Isthereanydeal->historic low. If I miss out... Oh well, that's some dollar value I either hung onto or put into something potentially more worthwhile.

Putting it on gamepass was a smart move. Anthem died because it didn't sell well which, in turn, was because no one wanted to pay for an incomplete product. Cue it looking unprofitable and BioWare kicking it to the curb. Outriders is all but guaranteed to have a playerbase right out of the gate because it's automatically in people's libraries. This will drive interest early on as people will have nothing to lose in picking it up and give Outriders a foundation Anthem failed to build. If Anthem had had something similar, 2.0 may have very well been a more tempting investment.

I’m amazed you ever thought it would be anything other than shit.

2 AntwortenIt all comes down to your expectations. If you are expecting it to bet Destiny, then it will inevitability fail. For me, the closest comparison that I can make to Outriders is Mass Effect 2/3. Outriders is basically Mass Effect 2/3 with loot, minus the dialogue choices.
