I have an idea that I feel could Improve everyone’s crucible experience, and this is coming from a mainly pve guy.... There should be a new match mode called something like “Worlds”, and the premise is that everyone in the world is ranked, and the only way to move up, is to beat someone above you. Ie your rank 1000, and you beat the person ranked 700, you then move up to rank 800, and they move down to rank 900 (or you just switch ranks). Now these ranks would reset every season, so that it’s always fair, and depending on where you ranked at the end of the season, would influence what rewards you get at the beginning of next season (rank 1 would get say 5 ascendant shards, exclusive shader/ornaments/emblem, and a weapon with a special roll that would only be obtainable by being rank 1, (example being, a gnawing hunger, that has overflow, dynamic sway and rampage, so a weapon with 3 perks, or a new slug shotgun that fires 2 rounds at a time, just something that’s unique). Where as rank 1000000 would get some glimmer and planetary materials. Obviously just examples of how rewards can be graded). There could also be variants of this, so you can run as a single, duo, trio or full team variants. Each with their own ranking. I reckon this sort of seasonal competition could be good, as it can give unique rewards, and gives those who love pvp, something to chase for. And whoever does get number 1, gets massive bragging rights for all time, as it’ll only be a select few that can get it each year. Obviously something like this would need special rules, so setting things like specific loadouts or banning certain exotics would be needed. But personally I feel like set loadouts of certain weapons, and all exotics banned would be best. And make it similar to trials/survival where it’s a best of X amount of matches to win.
