YOU NEED TO HIRE SOMEONE TO FIX LOOT AND PROGRESSION.
Take a completely new approach. The people you have working there are great developers. They have created one of the best shooting games of all time.
But you have never been good at loot, progression, or quality of life. Never.
Every year, you promise that things will get better. That "you are listening". No. They won't. No. You aren't.
You suck at balance. You suck at making what is arguably great content, rewarding and engaging.
Know your limits bro. Know your limits.
This game has always been a few changes to some core systems away from being, hand's down, one of the greatest games of all time.
But you, collectively, aren't going to get there. Sorry, but you aren't. I am sure there are a lot of software developers, myself included, out there that would be happy to consult with your team, gain a full understanding of WHY you keep missing the mark, and offer up some suggestions as to how to address these issues.
Again, you have done some awesome work over the years. But it's time to pass the torch.
Cheers!

12 AntwortenBearbeitet von Yosemite Sam: 1/7/2021 12:47:11 AM
YOU NEED TO HIRE SOMEONE TO FIX LOOT AND PROGRESSION.
This all I needed to read to know you're barking up the wrong tree. The loot system and progression is actually how they want it. There are no mistakes knowing it was literally planed this way. Even though I agree that it's stupid how they let this game go, they literally don't care. Why would they when way too many players throw money at the shop. Those players are ruining gaming and companies like Bungie just feed off of that, and as long as they keep doing that, don't ever really expect anything from this company as far as putting real effort into this game. Edit: I'm not playing the game right now, taking a break because I don't see the point of playing this game at this moment. Although If Activision took the IP I'd be back in a heartbeat. At least with High moon and the other studio, the game was actually moving forward.

1 Antwortenwhat are you talking about? you sound like some dumbass that got shit stomped in trials and now your complaining cause you cant get trials gear. loot is fine, progression needs a speed up aka STOP DRIP FEEDING CONTENT. the story needs better flow cause its way to random with no connections what so ever. but then again bungoe will never make the story good in this game

I feel like the game is somehow designed to waste as much of our time as possible while giving us the bare minimum positive encouragement to keep us hooked. I think if it wasn't this way, they would have taken this issue seriously years ago. Perhaps it helped in the past to inflate "engagement" metrics when they were under Activision's boot?

2 AntwortenWhy is it that when I make a post with similar points and content and summarization and length... It gets -blam!-ing ignored, yet this one has over 300 upvotes. I've been saying this shit for years... YEARS, oh but someone else makes the same points? Everyone notices? No wonder the destiny player base seems half braindead and the game is dying.

1 AntwortenThat are not listening. And never will

Please sell it Bungie

This ^^^ Or sell it to someone who knows how to develop, and maintain a sandbox. Imagine a blizzard owning this IP 🤤

Nice to bad theu do not care what you or any of us think. We need to put them in the unemployment line before maybe, and i mean maybe, they will acknowledge they had no clue ehat they were doing. Arrogance is the death of innovation

Bearbeitet von Night_Fury147: 1/8/2021 1:30:40 PMI agree. Bungie has done some good things for Destiny but they need help. Or better yet, they need to give the game to a developer that will do it justice.

1 AntwortenNothing good will happen unless there is a significant decline in revenues from in game transactions. The yield on this franchise has never been this high, hence you should only expect more cash cowing.

4 AntwortenLuke Smith and Eververse are driving this Titanic.

16 AntwortenI hate to say it, but they won't fold it. They are just milking it. This is a different Destiny post Activision. They are gonna milk this game until you hear their other projects coming out. You'll see. They're just keeping this franchise afloat until then. They don't really care after that. Look at the signs. You do this all the time. When you see dark clouds in the horizon, maybe a storm is coming. When you see smoke from a distance, maybe a fire is starting. Look for signs, they may be everywhere. Prepare and take notice, lest you'll end up in a dumpster fire, like this game. Bungo Logic!

2 AntwortenPlaying Destiny 2 is the equivalent to smelling a really bad Fart!!!, that someone else made!

They already got most people $70 so why would they care? If you paid a contract working on your house %100 when it's 25% completed do you think you would see him again?

35 AntwortenWhy didn't you put the solutions in your post?

2 AntwortenDon’t blame the workers, they have the capability to do those things. What they don’t have is the vision and direction from the leaders like Luke Smith. It’s the leadership that is failing the game not the workers

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von OdinsKnight101: 1/7/2021 5:09:59 PMFirst off I apologize for missing this
I LOVE the wall grenade. The hunter super and melee are fun IMO. The Titan super wasn't as compelling but the freeze component of everything is pretty fun as well. I am curious to see how it goes the more I use it. But my initial thoughts(no crucible yet) are mostly positive. That said, without updates to the other classes. I didn't feel compelled to change up anything that I had already been doing on my hunter and Titan. Top tree Nightstalker for hunter, bottom tree arc for titan. Orpheous and Skullfort as my exotics. Reply
Second I found this what you said that one time as a solution (I LOOKED FOR SO LONG LOL. Thank god I liked the post): link
I think destiny needs to lean into perks, mods, archetypes, and weapon type. These need to be both more numerous, but also more focused. Rampage is a generic damage perk, it can roll on any type of weapon. What if it couldn't? What if instead of Rampage. AR's had "Sustained Fire", with the bonus based on shots on target, not just kill? If Rapid Hit only came on long range semi-auto non burst weapons. Kill clip was only on hand cannons. Perk diversity that did the same core thing(DPS boost, reload, etc), but they were specific to weapon type. Easier to pull off on archetypes within that type. Same thing with Mods. More diversity, and more focus. Give gear endless side progression, making player choice more important AND more suited to the player. Then you have a gear progression system that is separate from the character. Then you lean more into power level as a content gate keeper. And rather than a separate artifact unlock for a season. You tie that progression to the character. So each season a character would have a reason to unlock the artifact bonuses WHILE leveling. You change those up every season. Which would be fine because it is part of the progression. Remove Power Level from gear and make it a straight progression system. Take RNG out of leveling and put it into the loot collection/ gear min/max aspect. So you get endless lateral gear progression. Linear seasonal level progression(with artifact mods as something to attain, without feeling like a total loss season over season). And you make some of the mods affect character abilities. Couple that with a deeper character ability system and the game runs itself. Freeing up both player and dev time to focus on content. Too much time in game is spent running the treadmill, not enough time is spent being legends.
13 AntwortenThey need an Age of Triumph style update. One that'll have raids and dungeons rotate in and out for gear every week. Bring back factions like they were in D1. Have rank ups packages for crucible and vanguard selectable for armor or weapons like in D1. These small things will make reset and grinding every week feel like a lot less of a chore
